Best carry for people that hate IWB for CCW?

I'm another who hates IWB ... I carry either in my strongside front pocket in a Mika or DeSantis Nemesis, or in a paddle holster clipped to my waistband ... another method I enjoy is my Coronado leather vest ... I like wearing vests, they look great when you're out dining and each has an inside breast pocket on either side with elastic to keep your gun from moving around ... it's tough to carry a heavy gun that way, tho, I usually have my PM9 or a j-frame in there, for 1911 carry it's Fobus kydex (or whatever their plastic stuff is) for me ...

The Coonan is not the only gun I hate IWB. I did not like my 686 or my LCR or my J-Frame in my waste band.

even the LCR made my back hurt. Pocket carry is ok but I have to limit it to small guns (obviously)

Confused all over again...

Exactly what type of handgun, caliber & size are you looking to conceal?
These posts are a tad vague.

any thing bigger than a pocket gun... I really like my Coonan but I am open for any thing in 357 magnum with at least a 4-5 inch barrel and at least 6 shots. I do not like IWB so I need a different way to carry it.

I have several 357 magnum revolvers unfortunately the ones I still have are single action or an 8 shot S&W with a cylinder the size of a lemon. I have a few j-frames and a Ruger LCR but I would like to carry some thing bigger. I just figured the Coonan would be an better option than the 627 or a single action revolver for defense.

Another vote for pancake

I have a Smith 66-1 with a 4 inch barrel. I am not a big guy at only 5'6" and I can carry it with a Fobus pancake under a t-shirt without much printing if it is a loose t-shirt. I did this last weekend and my buddy didn't even know I was carrying. The key is to get an actual "gun belt" as mentioned earlier. I have tried "heavy" belts, but they don't work because they really aren't stiff enough. As for wearing it in a car, I have no problems, you just may need to adjust it when you first get in. I, like many people, have a back pack full of holsters I have tried. Right now, the Fobus pancakes are working for me. I have one for each of my handguns and when I go to camp and don't necessarily need to CC, this is what I use, although I do still wear them concealed without a problem.

I know you said you don't like IWB, and I respect that, but my everyday carry pieces are IWB. I have a Walther PPK/s with a Bianchi Type 100 and a Beretta 92FS Compact with a Cross Breed Super Tuck. Naturally the Walther is small, but I carry both at about the 4 o'clock, or appendix position and I have no problems driving, sitting at my desk working on the computer, and moving around during the day. I know you prefer revolvers, but just letting you know that Cross Breed and othes do make IWB holsters that may distribute the weight a little better and make that option more comfortable.
