Best bulk .22 ammo?

Yesterday I bit the bullet (pun intended ) and purchased 600 rounds of CCI Mini-Mags. Tomorrow I shall go to my boss' house to sight in the new ammo. I'd do it today but it is just to damn hot!

I figure 100 rounds to sight in my Marlin 60 SS and 500 for the bug out bag for serious work. The other 2500 plus rounds will be used for surplus and plinking. Many thanks to all who chimed in! ;)

Good for you. But 100 rounds to sight in a rifle? On Al's range, starting from scratch, at 100 yards it'd take three (3) rounds or you really would be looked at a little oddly.

If that's how it works out then great! :D I'll have 597 rds for the BOB. I don't plan on using 100 rds.at 100 yds but I want to see the results at 75, 50, and 25 yds, etc. with the scope calibrated at 100 yds.

My Vote: Blazer 40gr Bulk....

Blazer 40gr Bulk...My Savage Mark II likes it a lot. I have found this round is economical and very accurate. PSA (South Carolina Co) was selling this stuff for $15 in the 525 bulk box a few months ago. This is not the $10 or more $$$$ a box stuff but great for killing paper and little pest out in the woods. Called CCI and learned that the Blazer 40 gr in the 50 round box is exactly the same as the rounds in the 525 bulk box.

Try a few boxes and you may agree with me a few others that posted before me today.

Have fun. Come visit South Carolina.... Lemmon

Federal and Winchester bulk. CCI Mini Mags for serious. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and toss the Remington now, dont even bother with it.

Federal 550 bulk is the best, although you can pick up the Federal Lightning 40 grain for about the same price. Walmart has both.

.02 David :)

I've had good results with Federal value packs and the auto-match.
My Henry really likes Fed Champions.
The CCI AR Tacticals have not been used very much yet, but no problems with those. There was a guy at the range with chronic jams, so I gave him some of the CCI, AR's and those all cycled in his rifle just fine
Rem Golden Bullets have been among the poorest. Too many irritating duds with those as well as Blazers.

I've had good luck with the AR Tactical line of CCI bulk .22 ammo through my firearms (Mark III, Buckmark, SR-22, Rem 510, Savage Mark II, Ruger 77/22); I've gone through several boxes, and not had a problem yet.

It's supposed to be designed for semi-auto rifles; the company says the bullets are a bit more rounded for proper feeding. From the feel of it, I get the impression it also has more or different lube than other bulk .22; this however, is a complete guess.

In any case, it works for me so I use it when I can get it. YMMV

Don't know if this is true but I have read from a couple of different sources that when manufacturers test their .22s during R&D and manufacturing, they all use CCI Mini Mags.

They are not cheap but they do seem to be very reliable.

does anyone know

If CCI sells the Stinger in bulk? Its the best round I've found for the American Arms PX-22. Wally mart sells 50 round boxes for about $7. I'm in mass, so ordering ammo online is a B!+(¤. Thought about asking the people @ the local wallmart. Then I talked to them, I'm pretty sure they don't care and most likely would be of no help. Other LGS are getting a premium for all ammo.
Example- rem golden bullet, 500 + packs @ wallmart are $20. Shop down the street wants $39. LOL.
So, just wondering if anyone knows if stingers can be bought in bulk, and if so, where can I find em in state?
