best beginner rifle for lefty?

I was wanting to get a mini 14 or 30 but think that ejection style throws it farther back.

Be VERY careful if you try to shoot one lefty. They chuck brass out the side almost as fast as the bullet that's leaving the muzzle. I'm only exaggerating a little.

TriumphGuy,I have always shot left handed and have fired just about every semi auto rifle model made over the years. The only rifle that ever tossed brass back into my face was an early model AR15 without a shell deflector on the receiver.
I owned a 180 series Mini 14 for over 20 years, and never had any brass come close to my face while firing the weapon.
About the only type of semi auto rifle that I can't shoot LH is any of the right side eject Bullpup models.I have to shoot them RH'd.

Lever guns don't have as good triggers

The Henry Bog Boy trigger is 4.5 pounds. That's pretty light for a production rifle in today's cover-our-butts retail climate. Just using the rifle (or some careful stone work) can make it as smooth as the action.

All I'm trying to say is not to discount a Henry lever-action before you've had the chance to fire one (especially since it's the only truly American-made rifle in the bunch that have been recommended).

In stead of the shotguns you listed consider an Ithaca. I have a model 37, and it ejects out the bottom, making it lefty friendly.

For rifles I like lever actions, unless you have the extra money to blow on a bolt action made for a lefty.
