Looking for best 9mm recomendations for NEW guns area near $500 please. If you have personal experience with your recomendation please let us know. Thanks

I have numerous handguns under and over your price tag, but I will only mention the two that I have acquired NEW under the $500.00 price tag.

1. Sig Sauer P250

2. Sccy CPX-2

Both pistols have been dependable for me. I have not had any problems with either pistol.

"Best" is very subjective in this case, and the $500 range gives you a lot of options. Do you prefer polymer or metal frames? DA/SA, SA, DAO, etc? Hammer or striker? It also depends on the purpose of the gun. Are you looking for home defense, competition, concealed carry? I'll throw out a few recommendations, but those questions are important to consider if the aim of this thread is to decide on a purchase.

CZ 75B (Own the Omega model and absolutely love it)
CZ P-07
Sig Sauer SP2022(Own the .40cal and it's fantastic)
Beretta PX4(Own the Stoeger Cougar, and this is an updated version of that design, which was already a great gun imo)
Walther PPQ

The CZ P07 and P09 models should definitely be in your list. The P07 can be had for under $400 even. Spend a few bucks on getting the spring kit from Cajun Gun Works and you'll have a gun that will easily rival guns that are significantly more expensive.

+1 to the Beretta PX4. One of my favorites and mine is my home defense handgun.

The Bersa Thunder Pro 9 (either in full size or Ultra Compact) can be bought brand new for about $400, and it is a great gun. It's completely ambidextrous too for any lefties reading this. I've got one and I enjoy shooting it.

Around here, you can generally find a Gen 3 Glock 17, 19 or 26 for about $500, but the Gen 4's are more than that.

Shhhhhh! Don't tell anybody until I get one. :D

I need another handgun about as much as I need to be axed in the head, but if I find a P07 for under $400, it will be mine.

You didn't say what you're going to do with it.
Home defense and range?
CZ P-09
All purpose sidearm?
CZ P-07
Don't like polymer?
CZ P-01, if you need a light rail, CZ PCR is you want a loaded chamber indicator and Novak style rear sight, CZ 75 Compact if you like the P-01 but want a steel frame with standard safety, not a decocker.
Don't like hammer fired guns?
Begone from me...I mean, *ahem*, always the old standby, Glock 19, usually found cheap at CDNN.

I forgot to add, I have had personal experinece with every single pistol named above. I carry the P-09 every day. I think the PCR is one of the best classic CCW pistols ever built, I never met a Glock I liked. Personal taste only, nothing wrong with the guns.

A Stoeger Cougar for $300, a price some here are saying is now reasonable, is probably the best bang for the buck. The Cougar is available in full size and compact versions.

Here are some that I like for around $500.00

SA/DA: CZ P-07/P-09, Sig 2022.

Striker: FN FNS, Steyr M9-A1/L9-A1.

DAO: Sig 250, Walther PPX.

Moving up to around $550.00 gets in a few more very good models.

I just bought a Walther CCP, $467 after tax. I think it is a pretty underrated gun. accurate, sized well for carry and still comfortable in your hand. and the delayed blowback action allows them to use a much lighter recoil spring, so it is easier to work the slide than just about any other compact 9mm.

it may not be the best in everyone's books, but it is the most recent gun to really catch my fancy.

CZ p-07

S&W Shield

You may even be able to find a new CZ p-09 under 500.

I have the 09 and Shield, and for sure the 07 is next on my list. My 09 and 75 are my two favorites (even over my p220 that I love so much) both have been flawless. I almost picked up the 07 when I bought the 09 but they didn't have any of the new models in stock in 9mm, only 40's. 389 for the new model sounds like a great deal...

There are oodles of them $500 or less. Personally I would go military surplus or police trade-in if money is tight, but that's just me. I love my CZ's. There are Turkish CZ clones for under $400 that are said to be quite good. They come in different sizes and materials. Our local Academy always has them. Good luck and let us know what you decide on.
