As you can see there are a lot of opinions on which is the best gun. My suggestion would be to go back and shoot some more and let your conscience be your guide. There are a lot of good base guns out there. But it has to be one that will suit your needs. Also do research. Go to the 1911 forum or Pistolsmith.com, and read up and get more information. Ask your local gunsmith what he would consider a good base gun. Talk to other shooters. Get a lot of info and then you'll be better able to make a wise and informed decision. If you take your time and do your homework you'll be happy with what you choose. Just my .02 on it.
