Bersa Thunder CC .380

I owned a Thunder .380 CC and it worked fine, no problems. However the trimmed sights are hard to see and the shortened grip tang adds to recoil bite. I would get the regular Thunder .380.

My Christmas present to myself was a Bersa Thunder 380 CC and the more I shoot it the more I like it. Yes, I am going on limited experience... so far I have been to the range twice and put about 250-300 rounds through it.

I find that it fits my hand very well and is much more accurate at 6-10 yards than I was expecting. I wear bifocals and haven't found the small sights a problem.

Attached is a picture from my last range day with the Bersa. The center of mass shots were with the Bersa at 6 and 10 yards. The head shots were at 10 yards, and I am still working on head position (to deal with the bifocals) head-height shots.

I am mid-range guy; I don't go for the high-end guns, nor do I go for the bargain basement. The Bersa it it easy to shoot, fun to shoot, and very reasonably priced.

I had one for a very short time - Thunder CC - that I bought second hand from a LGS. I put a couple of boxes of ammo through it and it never failed. I liked the size and the feel of it but the previous owner had done "trigger work" on it evidently. The first shot in DA was great but when it went in to SA, the trigger pull on it was so light that just a touch of my finger from the recoil gave me double taps that were un-intended - NOT a good thing for a carry gun! I took it back and they let me return it once I explained what was wrong with it.

I would have no problems getting another one (new though) and it is on my "list" as I liked the size of it and it was accurate at SD ranges. I currently either carry a 9mm or a 38 J frame and am going to move up to 45ACP - but for certain occasions, the Bersa would work just fine for me. If I get one I will want a couple of spare mags to carry with it for CCW.

Yep, you can spend a lot more money on a carry piece but for .380 ACP, the Bersa Thunder CC would probably be at the top of my list for a single stack. I liked it better than any of the other similar size 380s that I have had the opportunity to shoot over time.

I have a bersa thunder .380 that I've had for probably 15 years and never had any issues with it, probably one of my favorite hand guns. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I have a Bersa .380 and it has proven to be reliable and useful as an instructional aid. However, it would not be my first choice of a EDC .380

There are a whole lot of .380s out there that I think are engineered better and made of much higher quality materials, but they are also much more expensive. If all you can afford is a used .380 in the $250-$275 range the Bersa might be a winner in that price range. But, with that said if you can bump your budget up into the $350-$400 range there are lots of fantastic choices from Ruger, Kahr, Glock, etc......

It is your life, but the reality of a limited budget is a huge anchor that most of us have had to deal with before.
