Beretta survey

I have owned 4 beretta 92's and all have been accurate and 100% reliable. The only complaint is all have so so trigger pulls. I had a Beretta cougar in 40 that was 100% reliable but the trigger was so bad that I had a hard time shooting this pistol as well as my other guns so I sold it. Hey Quantium could you please keep track of the numbers for this thread too.

I intend to go into harms way.

i have 2 berettas a 92FS and a 92G Elite. the 92FS has about 3000 round thru it with zero malfunctions or jams. they are both very accurate but i shoot the Elite better since i have a trigger job on it done my Ernest Langdon. He doesn't do trigger jobs any more but there's someone on the beretta-L list that i hear does good beretta trigger jobs.

I have never owned a Beretta, but from my limited experience of shooting other peoples I am impressed. My general findings have been:

Pros:
*extremely reliable
*good ergonomics
*decent trigger pulls
*very classy look (open slide is unique and very appealing to the eyes IMO)

Con:
*average accuracy (I have never been able to get less than 4" groups @ 25 yards with the full size Berettas).

All in all, the Beretta gets my vote as a good design.

Sure, I'll give it my best guestimate. Its hard to keep exact numbers, but I can come fairly close.

I never owned a Beretta but I do want one in a small caliber.

What does anyone think of the Jetfire (.22, or .32?) and the Tomcat (.22, .25 or .32).

I'm not sure what comes in what.

I do like the "spring up" barrel.

I dont like Beretta at all, they are too big in comparison to other guns with the same capacity. They are not any more accurate than any other gun in the price range. I dont like the slide mounted safety/decocker. Sorry I have to pass on the Beretta

IMHO, Beretta 9mm's are the most reliable pistol's on the market. The Beretta mod 92FS gets my vote as one of the finest pistols ever made. Best, J. Parker

My 92FS is very accurate, soft shooting and reliable. Has given me no problems. A little big for concealed carry though.

I own a Beretta 96D, 96, 3032, and a Model 70. I am happy with the performance of all of them as far as accuracy, reliability, and gerneral feel. Actually, I LOVE the feel of Berettas.

i have a beretta 92. back in the 80's i went thru a spell of hating them because they replaced the 1911 as the military sidearm. i have really learned to love the beretta over the years. they shoot straight, and seem to be extremely reliable. i still love the 1911 but the beretta is great pistol.

My Cougar 8040 was my first big-bore auto. It has since grown on me. It has to be my favorite carry piece now. I need night sights.

Ok, over my 6+ years of handgun ownership I've owned almost every make. Ruger, H&K, Colt, S&W, Taurus, Glock, Springfield, CZ, EAA, Kimber, and others I can't remember. What do I LOVE? BERETTA :)!! Smooth as glass cycling, reliable, feels great in my hand, more accurate than I am, and that huge ejection port. If it doesn't say Beretta on the side, you won't get my money. Beretta 96 Border Marshall for me thank you ;)

Only ever had one an Elite Brig. 96G. Given the heavy DA pul it still shoot well for combat style games. It just really seems tractible in DA, easy for me to pull a good shot but do have large paws. Nice to own a pistol that don't feel needs any changes, a good trigger job would be nice though, not gonna trust it to just anyone though. The only thing I don't like is the jokers @ BUSA's tech dept. have gotten alot of malarkey & misinformation from them over the phone. Any one KNOW what the real differences between the Elite & the Elite II are? Every time I call down there I get a different answer.

Beretta 96 Inox was my first gun, and it's still my favorite to shoot. Very comfortable, but I tend to shoot high-left with it. I've heard others are similar.

Model 84 and 2 Model 70s'. Great guns. No complaints. Doubt any of the three will be traded (maybe gifted, which is where a 3rd Model 70s went).

Have had limited experience with the Model 92, but what I had was very, very positive.

Have owned some of the WWII vintage .380s. Worked well and gave yoman service.

My first and only Beretta is a Cougar 8045. I just -had- to have one of the Cat-Pacs. :)

Trigger has a very good single action pull, average double action pull. Rotating barrel does it's job of reducing felt recoil. Is plenty accurate out to 25 yards.

The only thing I don't like about it is the stupid slide mounted safety lever. This wasn't enough to keep me away from the Cougar but it has kept me from buying a 92 series pistol. I got the Taurus PT-92 instead which is the same pistol with the safety in the proper place.

A stainless Italian 92 was my first gun. Still have it. Still love it.

While it's a little big for a 15 round 9mm, it's not bad to carry. The front section of the gun (pretty much everything forward of the trigger) is actually rather narrow.

Finally, I find it to be the most reliable gun out there. At the range one day, it was shooting some rather mediocre ammo that was jamming my P99 and my friend's G17.

Accuracy is on par with my Glock, Sig, etc.

And I love the fact that factory hi-caps (which for some reason can be kept fully loaded for extended periods without losing spring tension better than any other gun I own) are plentiful and cheap (relatively so, anyway).

Complaints? The gun shot to the left. A little pounding on the rear sight cleared that up. Also, the slide release and mag release have taken on a slightly brownish color, though it hasn't gotten any worse in the last few years.

All in all, a great gun.
