Beretta Leaving Maryland

WTOP (Washington, DC) news this morning had a brief bit on Beretta.

They reported that NO DECISION has been made whether the company will leave Maryland or not.

I live in MI and we need jobs. If Colt or Berreta need a new place to call home we are pretty 2nd amendment friendly. Texas is probably their safest bet though. I say this is exactly the kind of thing that needs to start happening.

From where the Berettafactory is located in Maryland it would not be a long trip to Virginia. I understand they already have a warehouse in Virginia. Why not a factory too?

Moving any business, especially manufacturing operations is a very expensive proposition. If Beretta moves, the economic must make sense, meaning the state and town in which they move must offer enough financial incentives to make it work. Tax abatements, low interest loans, grants, etc can be used an incentive, all if there is enough job creation in the new jurisdiction. End of story.

The linked article doesn't say Beretta is leaving, just considering leaving and where their next investments will be. Sounds more like a plea to begin the "tax break/support race" than a call that they are leaving.
I find it preposterous and immoral that our politicians implement laws that must be circumvented for their sake but not the peoples.

"Coyote Slayer" Perry and our AG have been beating the bushes for gun companies to move to Texas .. blv they have attracted a few smaller ones, would love to have Beretta in the neighborhood ...
