Beretta 84. Worth it?

Downside is the fat slippery grip with no serrations anywhere.

Man, you had an oldie. Frontstrap and backstrap serrations since 1980. ;)

It also gained a heavier slide in 1982, so the recoil is a bit less sharp than it used to be. Still a blowback, though, so it's sharper than most expect.

WV - I am 99% sure it is a Century Arms import. My wife is asleep and opening the safe would probably wake her, which does not make her happy. However, I looked at a picture I took and it seems to have something like "CAI" on it, and something else that is clearly "VT".

For the OP - I may have gotten it on Gunauction rather than Gunbroker. On either there are large volume sellers that unload dozens of used handguns every week. It makes no difference to them if a few sell for less than market value, some will also sell for more. They make good money in the end. If the finish looks a little rough and the auction ends on a Monday morning or some other odd time, you can end up with a good bargain.

That is how I got the Beretta 84 for $233 (I am pretty sure that was the figure) and my S&W pre model 10 for $140-something.

Like I said $750 is just too much but when you can get a deal on a nice used one then its hard not to pull the trigger.

84B which I like because you can run it cocked and locked. I like it better than the older 84FS I used to have. It is perfect complement to my 92S. Blued instead of Bruniton with rounded trigger guards. Solid steel guide rods!

I found an 84 last summer at a Gander store of all places. Got it for $440 including shipping to my local Gander store.

Got two magazines and box plus papers. Looks unused.

So nice that I decided to sell my pristine Browning BDA. This gun now goes well with my almost new 85 and 87 Brettas.

I agree $750 May be a little steep, however I did pay $600 for my Brettas 85.
