Beretta 84 Stuck

You should have created a new post. The old one is 10 years old but hey welcome to the forum. I had a similar issue with my 81 that was driving me crazy. I accidently released the slide and wham o problem solved. You def have to work the slide more aggressively . Enjoy your 81. Great gun
 
I checked my Beretta 81, 84BB and two 92’s all of which disassembled by moving the takedown switch and sliding the slide assembly forward and off the pistol, no battering of the slide required. I keep my firearms clean perhaps ten years ago they had more resilient crud get into theirs.
