Being the Glock is so simple...How much do you think it cost to make ??

I'm with Richard on this price subject. On average, retail price must be 5 times the cost of production, or better, in order to provide interest for each party involved in the whole chain of distribution. So, if Glock sells for $400, cost is probably around
$80 or less. I would imagine factory price for average Glock to be
around $100, and import tax is probably between 20 and 30%.
Somebody also mentioned $125 with import tax, delivered to the U.S. Sounds like a correct number to me.

Okay, I checked out the ...

"Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, Annotated". Or, the HTSUSA, pronounced "two-sah". This is the document published by the US government that lists the tariff (importation tax) on everything.

Pistols and Revolvers cost $0.14 each, plus 3% of the "transactional value" of the item. Transactional value is the actual cost of the item where ever obtained. It has no set relation to the U. S. retail cost; other than it is always lower.

The 3% also applies to parts.

Scooter, the basic rule is "all merchandise imported into the economy of the U. S. is dutiable." There are exceptions, but "parts" are not excluded.

As an added bit of trivia, cannons, self-propelled guns, and machine guns are all duty free. They do however require specific permits.

Rifles are dutied at 4.7%; telescopic sights accompanying a rifle are 20%; shotguns are 2.6%.

Shipping costs are not in my department.

When I worked at a retail store(1996) I decided to check out the store invoices. I don't remember all of the prices, but I will not forget the cost of a Ruger 10/22. It cost the store $60 to buy and they were selling it for $149.99.

Rock at one time that may have been true, I could check FEDLOG, but I think the current going price for a M-16A2 or M-4 is around 200.00 to the gov. disgusting isn't it?

Cost of M4 $385 as per colts last contract.
Glock Law enforcement agency cost $325 indvediual officer $380
F-ing exise tax
Production cost I figure $200 by the time it hits the states.
