Before i post... distance purchase question

sorry folks, i didnt notice that my post had been moved and went with the first two responses.

Basically i would be telling my buddy that there is a good deal, he would buy the rifle, and i would purchase it from him later. But... when my friend transfers FFL and signs the sheet saying he IS the purchaser of the rifle, where he will own the rifle keeping it in his posession, and later i will purchase it from him. It sounds like me talking about it makes it pre-meditated gun running.
 
Yes, It IS perfectly legal. You're fine. As long as the subsequent private sale occurs between two residents of the same state and the private sale meets the requirements of that state's laws.

BTW, at the top of the page under "thread tools" is an option where you can subscribe and have updates to this thread sent to you in email as they occur.
