all the fuss over bear guns,what would happen if you shot him with a taser?it drops 300lb crack heads,what do you think?:cool:

Honestly, your just gonna pi$$ the bear off w/ a taser. I would rather have a sharp stick.

I wonder what pepper spray would do?
 
you know... it was a fair question... & I'm as big a gun nut as anyone, butt...one might work quite well...

I'm sure PETA would be happy to allow testing on "caged bears" if it would keep people from shooting bears with guns, in self defense :rolleyes:

I was watching the ( showing my age ) "tube" the other day ( mine isn't a flat screen... yet ), & a guy was doing a "green hunt" & shot a white rhino with a bow, that had a tranquilizer tip on the arrow, so a vet could do a check up on the rhino... gotta admit... way bigger cahunas than I have...

I would suspect a tazer would have the same effect on bear, as it does a human, provided you got a good shot in, & the contacts were long enough to pentrate the thick fur & get good enough contact... also effective range would be much closer than I'd be comfortable trying it...:eek:

I don't see a real problem with it....should work fine....just be sure the tazer is plugged into one of these...

no, PETA would rather you were eaten by a bear than cause any possible discomfort to one
 
What kind of bear are you talking about here?
Not all bears are equal, a Missouri Black Bear is nothing like an Alaskan Brown.

Heck, for a good while, .357mag was the gold seal in handgun bear hunting technology, now this is lower 48 and mostly eastern Black Bears...

P-Bears and grizzlies, all bets are off, something in the 8-inch Naval cannon variety with a ship to shore relay would be a great start. :D
 
The best bear gun you can carry is a single shot .22. When you see him coming, stick it in your mouth, point it up, and squeeze.:p

Assuming that the tazer penetrates the thick hide and hair and is effective in taking the bear down, one of two things will happen after the initial 5 second burst is up.

1. Flee. The bear will run away as fast as it can.

2. Fight. The bear will become extremely angry and will attack whatever it blames on the pain. This will probably be you.

The Fight or Flight senario is true with all animals, including humans. After being attacked (that's how the animal will see it) they will either Flee or they will Fight back.
