BDU's: Am I soon-to-be guilty...

Well, thanks to my fiancee, I'm the proud owner of 2 pairs of Rothco Ultra Force BDU pants ("official EMT trouser"), bought at the local farmer's market at an Army-Navy type of store. I got the all-black version (no camo for me). 8 pockets (hip, butt, thigh, ankle). Machine wash and dry. Drawstring leg. 65% polyester + 35% cotton. They fit well, and are quite comfortable.

Im going to wear them to work this Friday, when it's a bit more "casual." People wear jeans, so BDU's should be ok I would think. I'm gonna talk to my supervisor, to see what the VP might think, about BDU's on other days. I'm hoping the President/Owner won't care, since he has an impressive gun collection at his house. He has a few "coffee table glass cases" with about 8 handguns each. Historic firearms. Drooooool. We'll see what happens.

Wow why so angry Foxman? They are jokes. (well I do wear cammo lead.)
Don't see why the need for profanity.
By the way what do these stand for?

A£$%%^h$le

yeah, you will look like a mall ninja or some kind of wannabe. personally, I dont want anyone at work to even suspect I like/ have/ use guns.

Shot 24, not angry just fed up with people being categorised by choosing to wear what are good long lasting clothes and the sight of cammo gear sends some members of the public crazy ringing police etc, we are getting into a ever dafter society ,where freedom is being eroded daily, particularly for shooters/ hunters.
The grafics and abbreviations stand for what another member of these forums, very poetically called a "hinderpipe" I must bow to his superior grammatical invention!!

my rule is to wear only one tactical piece of clothing, BDU pants with regular t shirt, bdu brown shirt with jeans, skater pants with 5.11 vest. underwear with combat boots. etc. :) that way I do not get accused of trying to be a mall ninja so as as not to offend real mall ninjas out there.

To a degree I think people make a big deal about clothing, as long as you do not exhibit "blackwater fever" you are okay. When I wear my 5.11 vest, the comment I usually get is if I caught any fish that day (and most of them are serious).

Update: Well, I finally got around to wearing my black BDU pants to work today. My boss sort of looked at me, then walked away. I'm hoping it was just because they're a new look for me. I DID used to wear regular black slacks and loafers. It's not that much different.

I must say, these are VERY comfortable pants, even though they're a little big (due to the sizing method they use). I also wore a dark gray (w/ thin black stripes) polo shirt, and my Brahma black/brown work boots. so, you can't accuse me of being too "tactical" at work, or an office ninja, or whatever. ;) I think it works for casual professional. Especially since I've noticed that jeans have become acceptable everyday dress now. I think I'm in the clear.

If your boss decides he doesn't care for the BDUs but khakis and jeans are OK, you can usually get away with a nicer-looking cargo or hiking pant. I have two pair of Royal Robbins trail pants, one black and one khaki, that are my all-time favorites. They fit nicely, look good with a polo shirt, and will take any and all abuse. Plus, since I wear scrubs at work, I can wear them to and from the hospital with nobody complaining.

Shot24: I have seen camo scrubs in our OR once or twice, and a whole lot of camo scrub hats. Then again, just about everyone in health care up here is either armed forces reserves, armed forces retired or a serious survival enthusiast, so nobody much minds the MASH unit ambiance. In fact I think most of them find it nostalgic. :p

Woolrich will be introducing a new line of clothing at SHOT show call the Elite Series. Pants and shirts together would be nice business casual for work and, with Woolrich's experience in outdoor clothing, the range.

Dockers for work / BDU's for the range

Dude, U R going to have to get at least two pairs of pants. One for school and one for play. Didn't anyone ever tell U not to wear your school clothes for play? Come home from school, change your clothes and then go out and play. Black loafers and BDU's do not go together. Wear your black BDU's to the range with your black low cut Atama boots. That will look cool.
