BATFE and the Shutdown, affecting you?

I'm afraid that this shutdown will push the wait time way past 12 months. This just SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, in my neck of the woods Form 4s were coming in at almost 9 months before the shutdown. I hate to think how long it will take if you submit one now...

new CCW....

Im waiting on my new plastic ID card with color photo for my CCW.
It's been approx 3 weeks but the state website(pre federal shutdown) says it could take 8-12 weeks.
In the mid 2000s, I got new state licenses for other things(from the same Div of Licensing) in 10-14 days, .

It irks me because 75/80% of the background records are already cleared & if there was a serious DQ issue, the state or local field office could find it in minutes.
I know a lot of people are buying guns & obtaining new licenses/permits but you'd think that $$$/revenue would go back into infrastructure to handle the increases.

PS: I got my new US State Dept Passport & travel ID in ten working days too. ;)

Pardon me for asking, but how does a delay in receiving a state-issued permit relate to the shutdown of the federal government?

NCIC? DoD/NARA.gov ....

If the state or homeland security services have to use any federal agencies like the DoD; www.dod.gov or the NCIC, www.doj.gov or the NARA, www.nara.gov .

If you have personnel records or military records(like to document your firearms training) you might need to access a federal database or agency.

Just talked to a lady on the phone today inquiring about my application to amend my C&R FFL that I filed a month and a half ago.

She cannot update me on the status of my paperwork due to the shutdown.

Just my reading between the lines here, I'm assuming any paperwork along those lines is currently collecting dust.
