Ballistol..?

you guys make it seem like hoppes no 9 smells like roses!

My wife is so used to it she thinks it's some kind of expensive French cologne. :D

And yes I use Ballistol as well. The gun shops around here don't carry it but our old hardware store does.

Ballistol is my favorite gun cleaning product. And I like the smell -- sometimes I open the cap just to smell it, ha! Tests have been done that show it keeps rust away better than most gun oils, and I like that it's non-toxic. I like the old-time look of the cans too. :)

Ballistol's my favorite. I started using it on my black powder rifles and now use it on everything (though I've never tried it on leather)

I don't bother trying to find it in stores, I just buy it online. It comes in both aerosol and screw-top cans.

great stuff.

Ballistol

Been using it for years. Works just fine in all the applications mentioned so far.
In addition, Ballistol is a water soluble oil and thus is commonly used in mixing up "Moose Milk" for cleaning black powder firearms. (Baiiistol, liquid dish detergent, water).

Not my first choice for modern weapons lube or cleaning, but it is invaluable to have around. Came to it by way of blackpowder guns, great fro anything on them, leather conditioning, general gun wipe down and such.
