"Bad guy" gets a girl off the fence.

I think you should get her baby Glock a nice .45 to keep it company. ;)

And tell her "Welcome to the gun-nut community" for me.

I recommend training before equipment:
1) Safety (always first).
2) Legal training combined with common sense and situational training.
Teach "avoid", "escape", then "defend as a last resort”
3) Proficiency to ensure she is both willing and able to protect herself
effectively and efficiently.
4) Concurrent with 3, find a carry "system" which works for her (not
necessarily for others) and which she will USE!
5) Then more training and add the accessories.

:) And have her become a TFL regular!

(Open for suggestions! :) )

Perhaps you should treat her to a self defense class. I don't know what is available in Cobb County, but in Athens, GA at the Firing Lane they have a beginners class for $35 and they supply ammo, gun, and range time at that price. It is taught by an instructor from the NE GA Police Academy.

Oh, BTW, you said she got a Glock 27 in 9mm? The 27 is chambered in .40 *&*. If she got a 9mm it was probably a Glock 26 which has the same dimensions as the 27 but chambered in 9mm. Unless it was just a typo. :)

"I wish to purchase her a gift to further encourage her for her first steps into the world of gun-ownership. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinkin' Pierce grips to add a bit more stability or an organizational membership (NRA?)."

If they are not too expensive, safety classes. It sounds that she is very new to this world and I would hate to hear the she shot her boyfriend or that her boyfriend shot her accidentally in the middle of the night.
