BACO Model 70 Extreme Weather

I recently acquired a BACO South Carolina made model 70 extreme weather in 270wsm. This is the most accurate factory rifle that I have even owned, the new m70's are truly one of the best m70's made in my experience/opionion. Anyone on the forum have experience with the new model 70's?

My 7mm mag supergrade is one of the FN made in the USA, assembled in Portugal ones. I have zero complaints, and it is plenty accurate even with partitions.

Same rifle in 308. I bought it used in 2009 and used it in the factory stock for a year before finding this McMillan Edge posted for for sale used in the classified sections of another gun forum. It is 7.25 lbs as shown in the photo and is the most consistently accurate rifle I've ever owned. I've had other rifles that were ever so slightly more accurate with pet loads. But this one puts 3 shots into .5-.75" with boring regularity with almost any hand or factory load I've tried.

Interesting trying to figure out what to call that, isn't it? :)

FN-made, Winchester-branded, Portugal-assembled, BACO-imported.

They are nice... I have a SC made Stainless Featherweight in 30-06. Very nice rifle, and very accurate. Bought it in 2012. Must have been made on brand new tooling, cause it is as slick as soap on glass. Very nicely machined.

Nice looking rig jmr40. I have several m70's from late 50's to these new ones and love them all but I am truly impressed with the new stuff. The fit/finish is nice and yes smooth as can be. The new moa trigger is ok, felt better for sure but easy to adjust. I am loading the 150g Accubond Long Range which has failed miserably in every .270 Ive shot them through but are grouping lovely in the wsm. Groups are around .4" and factory loads did a 10 shot group in .875". Nothing to sneeze at for a factory rifle!

Nothing really new with Winchester.

We have Pre-war model 70s
Pre-64 but post war 70's
Post 64 70's
USRAC 70's
The Classic 70's made in New Haven
BACO FN 70's made in SC
BACO FN 70's assembled in Portugal
BACO FN 70's manufactured in Portugal

All are somewhat different with very different values on the used market. Trying to figure out a fair price on one can be like walking through a mine field. It is easy to pay way too much.

I honestly think the Classics made 1992-2006 in New Haven are the best of the bunch. They are better built and generally more accurate than the pre-64's while coming closest to the original design.

The FN made rifles tend to be the most accurate out of the box and are very well made, but vary just a bit from the original design.

I have a Super Grade in 338WM I bought new in November of '15. Absolutely LOVE that rifle!

Thought I had a problem with it, but figured out it was a bad scope...

Jmr40 I have a custom wildcat built on a classic action and its a sweetie. I had a scope issue on a '89 .270 once Ride Red, bout drove me crazy till I got it figured out!
