We are doing 1911s, BHPs in 9mm and .40, and CZ75/EAA Tanfoglio type weapons for handguns.
We also offer precision rifles in lightweight, standard, and heavies; and multipurpose shotguns.

Wait until you see the .338 Lap Mag we are building.

Great looking toy, but for my money a stock gun is fine. As long as it work 100% and puts them at point of aim I'm happy. I used to be heavily into custom 1911s until I finally realized my shooting wasn't sufficiently better to offset the extra cost. For example I routinely shoot 296/300 on the LFI-1 course with my customized Series 80. With my GI Colt I shot a 292/300. Hmm...

All kidding aside

Would you want to go into court after shooting someone and be asked "Is this your gun here with the words "Mad Dog" on the grip"?

Regards.

That is my gun, so it has my nickname on the grips. the standard GunGrips lack the embellishment.
BTDT with the going to court thing. Used a knife with the Mad Dog logo on it.
I used the "A rose by any other name" argument, and came out clean. :D

No wonder you go by Mad Dog

I withdraw my comment. Looks like a mighty fine gun. Put that thing away;)

Regards,

Ledbetter

HarryB, whats your beef?

By basics, I mean that the gun lacks unnecessary frills.
No checkering.
No red dots.
No front serrations.
No beavertail.
No BS.

It has fixed sights, and everything on it is there for plain old combat reliability.
We build them tough, so you can use them hard.

BTW: Our GunGrips are featured in the latest issue of SWAT Magazine.
:D

Are GunGrips available to fit a Para P-14. I am looking for a slim-line composite type grip.

Thanks
Mike

Sorry, but GunGrips are available for 1911 single stackers only. We do offer them for the sawed off 1911s, like the Officer's ACP and soon, Detonics.

Basic?

Now this is basic :D

Very used Colt 1991A1 equipped with Mad Dog's GunGrips. The grips are indeed very durable and functional!

The gun's finish is pretty much shot but by the time I'm done customizing it, all that'll be left will be the frame, slide and GunGrips.

BTW, local gun shop called to let me know this Colt came in during a trade. Price ... $275!!!!!!!!!! SOLD :D

I have no "beef" with you or your weapon. It just seems to me that people feel the need to drop large amounts of money to make a 1911 "combat ready." My Springfield Loaded Parkerized has proven 100% reliable with ball and Hydroshock and it accurate enough (3" to 4" at 25 yds) to protect myself and those around me. I have no doubt that it will stand up to all the hard use that can be dished out. ArmySon's latest pickup is even more basic, and it would be just as combat ready as is...

Tell me that after your staked in front sights and plunger tubes fall off, the factory finishes have allowed the weapon to rust, and the MIM parts have dinged, chipped and collapsed.

There is more to reliability than feeding hollow points... :D

Well I better ship mine off right now--those failures are pretty common!

FWIW a dovetailed front sight is in my future because I want a set of Ashely's myself. I do like the grips and have heard nothing but rave reviews--will check out the SWAT article.

If I ever have a plunger tube failure I promise I will have your mods done;)

The reason I started doing these mods is because...
I had these failures on stock guns.

Expect a visit from the plunger tube fairy soon... :D

Believe me, the staked on front sight WILL FALL OFF eventually. All my carry guns have soldered on plunger tubes.

On the 1991A1, the hammer is awful and rubber mainspring housing, plastic trigger does a beautiful 1911 disservice. Also, the tiny rear sight is functional but there are far superior sights available today. There are other minor gripes but it’s not a functioning issue.

Call us at the shop and order by phone, or just send us a cashiers check or money order for $88.00 to cover the standard grips, shipping and handling.

High polish presentation grade grips are $100.00 +$8.00 S&H
