I share your pain, fortunately I got one and woe unto him who would cut that one up :D

Bruce, do you know whether Oz L1A1s were full-auto or semi? Mine is semiauto, and I wonder if it was so originally. I think the British L1A1 was semi-only, but I'm not sure if Aussie guns were.

The Aussie L1A1 was semi-auto only, and did not fire bursts. There was an auto version (the L2A2) which was used mainly by the Navy as a section light machine. Reportedly it was not too reliable and was prone to stoppages.
