Just to set the record straight.....the Raging Bull is also available in .500 S&W mag.....Not recommending it.......just mentioning it....

I currently own one handgun, a Ruger SRH in .454 Casull. I am looking for another handgun and just noticed a new Taurus Raging Bull in .480 Ruger at the local shop for $465. Now I have shot many big handguns but never a .480, I hear it doesnt recoil anything like my .454 but recoil doesnt concern me. I'm just wondering since I already have a .454 would I gain anything by getting a .480? I wouldnt mind having one but arent they pretty close? The Raging Bull does look sweet. Is $465 a good price for a new Raging Bull in .480 Ruger? I do love big handguns. Also I do reload.

I think the 454 has more options than the 480.

It can shoot lighter loads to more powerful loads than the 480.

Wow, I started this topic back in 2001..... Anyways, yes I finally got my Raging Bull 454 in middle or late 2004. I still haven't fired it yet though.....

I may just go with the .480 anyways just because I love big handguns, then I"ll have two sweet handcannons, my .454 and a .480...all I'll have to get then is a S&W 500 and 460 Mag:D

   you had the gun for a yeah and haven't shot it yet? I shot mine the day after I got it :D

Big Yack why not just get a .44mag, the ammo won’t cost you a fortune. And if you reload it will cost you about the same (or less) as 9mm. ;)
