ATTN California Shooters: Internet Ammo Sales Ban

Well I guess if this passes, people will look around in other states, get nervous, bam, ammo hoarding phase 2. Someone will say that your state or the feds are considering it and clean out the shelves again just when stuff is starting to accumulate there again. Maybe swords and bows will pick up sales in Ca. unless those are illegal there too. This will really be a disincentive to crime, NOT. Like ammo restrictions in Mexico? Maybe those people that they find dead down there all over the place just developed a condition called swiss cheese syndrome? Evil government run amuk, where will they stop, as long as they are testing the envelope of what they can get away with.

in our great socialist state of california you already need to provide a thumbprint, license, address, etc. the phone number thing is new however. few stores still have the ammunition accessable directly by customers here, anyway. really the biggest implication of this bill is no online sales.

being a citizen of Cali, what pisses me off is the fact that our stupid government officials do everything possible to drive out business of our state. it is #@$ing hard enough to run a successful business in this tax layden state, now they are going to make it that much more difficult for the already heavily discriminated segement of gun store owners. besides cost concious consumers, many dealers also rely heavily on online purchases, both to buy and sell.

CA is freaking broke, its amazing that they have figured out yet another way to send more business out of state, as Nikop23 said:

looks like I will be driving to nevada

now even more money that should be spent instate and stimulating our own local economy is going to go somewhere else.

PLEASE EVERYONE LOOK AT MY STATE AS AN EXAMPLE. I'M YOUNG, I PROMISE YOU I HAVEN'T BEEN VOTING LONG ENOUGH TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IDIOTS THAT ARE IN OFFICE (and i didn't vote for most of them anyway). WHEN THE RIGHT IDIOTS WIN OFFICE, LOOK WHAT CAN HAPPEN. AND FYI, THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE IS FROM HERE... FRISCO NO LESS... THAT KEEPS ME UP AT NIGHT AS IT SHOULD ALL OF YOU.

still strapping in the face of discrimination,

Tom2, the feds are considering similar legislation, or at least many higher up Dumbocrats have stated their intention to support such legislation. Whether it happens or not, we'll see. I don't think it will, but you never know. Remember, socialists are like the scorpion that stung the frog. It's in their nature. If they look like they're going to loose in 2010, who knows what they might try to pass.

Domininance, why don't you move. Just understand that when the feds bail out Kalifornication, using our tax money to pay your state's bills, the rest of us won't care who you voted for or how old you are; all anyone will see is your Kali license plate and DL. As far as I'm concerned on that day, anyone in Kali that doesn't leave or rise up is part of the problem. I live in Florida and own land in Arkansas and Texas. None of those states, while they have their problems, especially Florida, are in the mess that Kali is.

I know that most of the people that I know in those states won't pay your state's bills. For all of you who live in the Gomorrah, I mean Golden State, understand that when we pay your debts, all the townhall type anger will focus on you as residents of Kali. I can't imagine that you'll find much welcome or good feelings from the residents of Montana, Texas, Utah, or other states when our hard earned money is keeping your illegal alien infested hospitals and schools open.

Domininance, don't take this personally, I kind of feel sorry for you and those like you. I just hope that the politicians understand the immense well of anger that is bubbling up in flyover country. Townhalls about health care reform are the pressure release now, I don't know what comes next.

I predict a big boom in reloading shops. Sells components, presses and tools, and offers reloading classes.

The reloading industry is about to get twice as big, overnight. I also predict the Arnold will ignore the bill and let it become law without his explicit signature. Otherwise his Kennedy wife will whip his butt. Talk about a girlie man!

:(

It seems that this "old news" is new to many of you. sigh. Regardless, I was thinking of either merging this thread with the existing thread or letting it run on its own.

However, after reading all the comments, I must point out the following from the rules of this particular section of TFL:
The indiscriminate use of invectives such as Demon-crat or Repugnican, or otherwise twisting personal or group names, necessarily embodies negative emotional content. Such content leads to emotional arguments wherein rational, logical thinking goes out the window. This is what our opposition does. We must take the High Road, at all times. Therefore, If you cannot use the proper terms/labels for what you are discussing, then don't bother posting at all.
And I should add, skirting of the bad-word filter.

Shame that one or two members have to mess-up everyone's day.

Closed for being a duplicate. PM's in route.
