On some very windy days at our outdoor range...I've seen guns blown off the bench rest tables, that come crashing to the ground {concrete pad}; including one of my scoped AR's.
The mistake is to leave a gun in a case on top of the table. Once the wind gusts gets around 17mph...a cased gun --- especially in a cloth case --- is in danger of being wind-swept off the table; including a gun that is put on top of the case.
In my case...I had my AR in my un-zippered cloth case --- the wind opened the case --- and swept the gun and case off the table like a boat sail fluttering in the wind.
The key is to leave a naked gun on the bench rest table on windy/gusty days.
