Armscor M206 .38spl

The several Armscor revolvers I worked on in the 80's were pretty much copies of Colt D frames. In particular, one customer had a pair, one of which was a .22 lr, and the other a .38 Special. They were basically copies of Colt Diamondbacks, only with very soft steel.

I have one of these and love it. The fit and finish is a little rough and the crappy wood grips have got to go. However, mine has a sweet DA trigger and with its relatively heavy weight, it shoots like a dream. Mine has been very reliable and I use it as my CCW in the Autumn and Winter months. I second the Pachmayr grips, it made all the difference in the world for me. Specifically they are the Pachmayr gripper grips for the Colt detective D frame square butt. It is a fun little gun, and you won't go wrong for $200.

I just picked up one myself. The Pachmayr Gripper grips are a mandatory upgrade over those wood grips on the gun. The ones for the Colt Diamondback fit perfectly, part # 02513.

I had it apart, oiled and cleaned, and it functions great, and the DA trigger pull is amazing. The inside finish may be a bit rough, but the darn thing functions very well. My wife even liked the trigger feel.

I can't wait to shoot it...

I carry one openly on my belt everyday. I have shot it a bit and it is quite accurate. I use standard 158 gr hollow points in my M206.

I think that many people forget that there were two lockworks for Colt Detective specials... the original and the 'DS 2' redesign. The Armscor replicates the DickSpl 2. I have 2 of the 206s. Both handle very well. Neither shoots precisely to the sights. Pachmayer compac grips for the DS fit up well. Hogue monogrips do not.

I own a DS 3 (with the shrouded ejector rod) and both an Armscor M200 and M206. The DS 3 lockwork is completely different from the Armscor lockwork. See posts #11 and 13.

m 206

I just bought one today for home defense, based mostly on price. It is not a pretty gun but the only ones who will see it are me and my wife. The guys who are coming through the front door will only see the end of the barrel. Bought 38+ ammo, I understand I should buy some other ammo for practice.

???

Why? If he wants to continue the same discussion, why start a new thread so his comments will be divorced from the other discussion of the same firearm?
