I just got a response from Karen Johnson.
My note to her:

Ms Johnson,
I've been considering moving to AZ from CO for a few years. If your resolution passes, I'll pack up the truck and head south in a heartbeat.
It's about damn time someone told the feds to back off. Thanks for introducing this resolution.[/quote]
And the reply:

Thank you for your encouraging e-mail regarding my controversial HCR 2034 legislation. Your vote of confidence is greatly appreciated, as the slings and arrows from the liberals have been coming fast and furiously.
I have no problem standing up for correct principles that our Constitution embodies and will continue to do so, but your support and/or prayers are very comforting.
By the way, HCR 2034 is a resolution that (if passed) would be sent to the President, Senate President, the Speaker of the House, and Members of Congress in Washington D.C. It would not go to a vote of the people in Arizona in case you heard that inaccurate report. Currently the HCR bill has passed out of my Federal Mandates and States' Rights Committee and also the Rules Committee. Last night we heard the bill in Caucus and moved it along. Next week the Committee of the Whole will be hearing and debating the bill. (emphasis added)
To my surprise, I have been receiving hundreds of e-mail from citizens outside my own district and state in support of this legislation. It is unfortunate that I cannot rally that kind of support among my own legislative colleagues. I am hoping for the best and will do everything in my power to pass this resolution out of the House of Representatives.
Once again, thank you for your support. I apologize for the lengthiness of this e-mail, but I wanted to update you.
Best regards,
Karen Johnson
AZ State Representative
