I was a confirmed 1911-aholic for years, shooting IPSC/USPSA , double taps, Pepper Poppers, etc. Then I got hooked on the Steel Challenge. I watched some of the revolver guys run the course, and I was hooked. I built a 6" race revolver for slapping steel quickly, and started working every weekend, 100-300 rounds at a time, cleaning the dropping steel plates at my local range while working on my DA pull. It's to the point now that I can actually drop 6 plates at 25 yards quicker in DA revolver, than I can SA using my IPSC 1911. I think you're right about the revolver's trigger pull being a timing aid.
