Are you legally responible for every sound wave that comes out of your gun?

PS...in the EXTREMELY unlikely event (equivalent to the probabilites of Hillary becoming a pole dancer or Rosie becoming a centerfold for anything other than a Pork Processors magazine) I would ever even consider popping off a round in a public place, I wouldn't even think about the issue.

So why would you say ^ if you have indeed heard of the Luby's Massacre? You could indeed have to pop off a round in a public place.

That's drinks' point

Yes it is "extremely" unlikely you will ever have to do it, but it is extremely unlikely you will ever have use your gun in self defense at all. Just because it is extremely unlikely you will get robbed, shot at, attacked or assaulted in some way does not mean you don't think about it.

why can't I do both? Makes for interesting conversation

I would like to point out that even though you are talking about hot loads for larger caliber pistols, a single 9mm round fired in a closed area can burst an eardrum. It doesn't even have to be +p rounds or whatever else you got in the popgun of a 9mm  (Disclaimer: I am not trying to start a 9mmm vs your-favorite-caliber-here debate):p
