Are you focusing cash on ammo versus an extra gun?

mdd, I imagine he's thinking about feed lots and the crowded conditions. Don't worry about it.

I've yet to wear out a gun, but I've used up a lot of ammo through the years.

To me, the big incentive for ammo and components is the unending inflation in consumer prices. Buy now, 'cause the price will be higher in the future.

Personally I'm expecting the US dollar to do better against other currencies ... but that's a discussion for other forums. I quite frankly have enough ammo (but do buy when the sale is good). On the other hand, there's always another gun I want so my dollars are being mostly saved for another gun (want that CZ75B compact :) ). I hope to buy one just before the election if the prices hold flat ... just to make a statement. ;)

I keep buying more loading supplies because, like Art said above, everything just keeps getting more expensive. When I think back to what I paid for reloading supplies 40 years ago versus today it literally makes my head spin!

Over two weeks ago I bought another 480 rds. of M2 Ball. The guy at the club sold it for the price of present CMP plus shipping. Now with a good bit, I want to guard it like the dragon "im Ring des Nibelungen", guarding the cave of gold.

Reloading so far is only for the Enfields or the FR8. If you guys get low on powder in one-two years, will your best deals be the 8-lb. jugs at gun shows, assuming that you attend mostly to socialize?

FloridaVeteran: It would make no difference to me even if sarcasm were intended. With six Enfields, the choice is which to take along with the SKS or Romanian M-69 Trainer, or.... etc.

Loaded question....pun intended.

If you have one or two guns to feed expanding your collection might be a priority. If you have quite a few mouths to feed then ammo becomes more of a priority.

In my case I have
(3) Shotgun gauges / bores
(11) Rifle calibers
(8) Handgun calibers
And the 22 RF flavors for both rifle and handgun.

As you can see; it is a matter of perspective.

I don't believe it's a perishable skill, but I also believe there is no substitute for practice, and it's also fun to do. I'm gonna do some rifle practice this weekend myself.

I focus on ammo, components and mags. My safe is completely full so......

I prefer my handloads to any factory ammo out there, but if I see good bulk ammo deals, I hop on it. especially for rifle ammo. I like to stock up on 00 buck shells and slugs too. I havent loaded shotshells in a couple years. I dont enjoy loading buck shot anymore, and for plinking loads, I cant beat the walmart 100rd value packs.

I buy 556 surlpus alot. I use my handloads for hunting. But for plinking and ammo storage its tough to beat.

+1.
Got plenty of guns. Never have enough ammo or components.
