Just wondering how many handgunners consider themselves hunters? I say consider (and I am answering no) because, while I have been hunting and will again in the furture, I do not do it regularly and do it with "borrowed" equipment.

I will let you decide for yourself. (this is just for fun)

I wouldn't really call myself a hunter. I believe in eating what you kill, and when it comes my neck of the woods the wild game often has a very swampy taste, something that I don't care for at all. I go hunting every now and then, but I will usually give away whatever I come back with to a relative that will enjoy it. Last month it was rabbits that I gave to my grandparents, and they couldn't have been happier to get them.

Nope, no moral objection to it, and would like to try it one day.
But if I am to do it, I will want to do it right. I have neither the time nor the resources to do it right.

I'm rather fanatical about it.

Archery, muzzleloaders, rifles, shotguns, handguns...........

I'd hunt with a spear if NC law allowed it.

Pretty much what rantingredneck said. I've hunted since I was big enough to keep both ends of a pellet gun off the ground, and enjoy it immensely.

The weapon used is less important than the actual hunt, but those that offer more challenge give me more satisfaction and enjoyment.

Those who know me well enough to say one way or the other would definitely tell you that I'm a hunter.

Yes. Dad started taking me ever since I've been twelve years old. Deer, Turkey, Small Game. It's our time to hang out just him and I. He's starting to get up there in age and I will dread the day when it ends.

Only when the wife lets me. Archery, muzzleloader, rifle, pistol, shotgun. Heck, I've even hunted with a sling shot when I was a kid (killed squirrels with it too).

I've hunted since I was a kid. Big game, birds, varmints - Rifle, pistols and shotguns. I haven't been able to hunt for a number of years, not enough time.

*SIGH*.

But, I still get out and chase the birds around the fields once in awhile. (don't hit as many as I used to but still make lots of noise).

lets see

i hunt deer rabbit squerel ducks geese coyote phesant quail and whatever else i can get the time to hunt. i mainly bow hunt for deer but occasionally get out to handgun hunt if i dont get one with the bow and if i get my deer early enough i can concentrate on duck and geese and others. so i would say i am a hunter. i would say its not about the kill i love just getting away with my friends and or family that goes with me and takeing in nature i enjoy sitting in the woods just relaxing and not haveing to think about anything. but i love to see some big bucks coming through the woods gets the pumper a going.

Got my hunter safety card but left the class convinced that the complexities of the game regs and the laws make it impossible to be legal all the time. And I've heard some stories and traffic on the scanner that reinforce that impression. (For example, don't ever pick up ANY bird feathers. )
I've gone this long without being arrested - why risk it now?

No moral objection to hunting at all.

No hunting here. I've got guns for just about any type of hunting you can do, but I haven't done any yet. If I can ever get the time to take the hunter's safety course I may go next season. But, since I work 2 jobs it's just not that easy to devote an entire weekend to a class!

No, on occasion I will go but im by no means a regular. And when I finally do get into a deerstand at 5:30 am I just think "Why am I not in bed?".
