ARE THEY KIDDING?

I believe that it was a former Governor of Kentucky that stated it best. "If in your term as a Governor you can't make 15 million dollars there's something very wrong with you". It's the power the money and the opportunity to play with large amounts of both that gets them, and to them!

I hope this isnt in the wrong place but before the income tax where did the government get the money it needed for defence etc.?
