Are there pistol offenders or preditors?

Yea, I just bought a Ruger Alaskan in .454.
Did I need it? No
Will I hike where I could run into a bear? Probably not.
Will I use it for HD? Nope, 1911 for that.
Like it? Yep.
Looks cool? Oh, heck yea.
Fun to shoot? I bet it will be.
There, all the reason I needed.

You're not a predator,,,

You are a junkie!

First step (of the 12) is to admit that fact to yourself,,,
Once you do admit it to yourself you can go on your merry way.

You're not harming anyone with your addiction,,,
Unless your kids go barefoot because of it,,,
Or you spent the rent money.

I've bought guns just to own them for a while,,,
Shoot a few boxes of shells through it,,,
And then sell it not long after.

Even if I took a small loss on the resale,,,
Which hardly ever happens to me,,,
I call it "long term rental fee".

I recently bought a Ruger Blackhawk in .357,,,
I got it for what I would call a fair price,,,
I ran three boxes of shells through it,,,
Then sold it for a $20 loss.

I got $20.00 of use out of it,,,
I discovered that I hated that handgun,,,
I'll never drool over a Blackhawk picture again.

It cost me $20 to be able to say,,,
Been there, done that, don't need to go back.

Hello,,,
My name is Aarond and I'm an addict.

Now excuse me while I browse for my next acquisition.

My personal feeling is that handguns do not appreciate as much as other weapons, so I don't have more than a dozen or so of them. They are also harder to sell, you cannot go off to the Fed-Ex hub and ship it off to an FFL dealer by yourself, has to go through a dealer.

But if you like to collect them, and can afford them, knock yourself out!;)

Hi I'm dmac and I too believe I'm a gun addict. While I don't own a vast collection of handguns, I'm at my local gunshop at least once a week and get my fix by shooting my two S&Ws. I'm afraid my 10 year old son isn't far behind. He is constantly looking at gun magazines and wanting to shoot as well. Train up a child in the way he should go truly applies here lol.

To me, a short barrel and fat cylinder is a disaster because you're forced to carry with the cylinder right on top of the belt. Lengthen the barrel and you can move the cylinder up over the belt, reducing the "pinch" at that point.

45gunner, I think we are married to the same woman!!! :p

"How many more guns are you going to buy? Don't you already have one/two/three of those? Why do you need so much ammo?"

I figure what the heck, I've raised two kids, put both through college and gotten them set up, built and sold a good business and retired. It's time to do something for ME!

Hi, My name is Lee and I'm a gunoholic.
