Are there pistol offenders or preditors?

I get to thinking sometimes that I may be a pistol predator....yikes! Is that a indictable offence? Do people look at you as the weird breed of society and feel you need to be supervised constantly?

For example,...why do I want this gun? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=160695069
Because I need it? no. Because I don't have a wheel gun? no. Because it's a super steal of a deal? no. Well, what's the deal? Ok...here's the confession...because I just want to hold it...to touch it...to own it...and occassionally fire it. It's massive...it screams don't tread on me! It is built like a tank.

Or take this gun. ok...thank you I will. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=160217563
What a unique and special master piece of pure quintessential art this is. I lust after it....why? because I don't have a high dollar gun? no. because I want to hold it...ok...you get the picture. Am I alone here of should many be indicted for this same obcession? By the way, anyone that can spare me some gun money, send it to gunlust.com and send as much as possible....even 5 grand would be appreciated and a good start. :D And hurry before those auctions end.

If that gun were a dog, it would be the exact opposite of a weiner dog.

I won't be making any donations to your fund ....

but buy the Sig X-Five .... you'll be glad you did ( I have one identical to it / in .40S&W ) ...and I want another one in 9mm ....

I hate the grips on the 327. I have a set, and they came right off my 627 V-Comp for a set of rubber Hogues. Which by the way, I didn't need. $1100 (MSRP $1700+) paper weight.

IMHO, I do not like either of them. Yes the revolver looks cool but for a grand I would rather build myself two .45's from mil-surp parts.

I prefer guns that are tool for function, not cosmetic looks. You can have all the pretty in the world, when the iron hit the pavement and you pull the trigger and it goes bang is what I am after. Reliability and quality are my two favs when picking out a gun. At the same time, being cost conservative so I can save for yet another gun I would like.

I had won a DU Remington 1100 20 ga 2 years ago, it was beautiful, fiddle back maple wood, gold and silver inlays, incredible finish handled like a dream. But it is a NON shooter. Yes it gave some bragging rights but that was about it. SO.... I auctioned it off between my VFW -AMVETS-AM LEG-MOPH and raised a pretty hefty sum, gave the DU chapter 1/3 of the proceedings, Split another 1/3 between the Vet groups and went out and bought 3 guns for the money I had left and still had cash left over for dinner - movie - massage for the wife at Mario's Spa.

You are not alone in your desires and lust. What you have is a legitimate addiction, shared by purveyors of the gun world.

Every time my wife comes into my home office and I have Gunbroker on the screen, I can predict the words from her mouth, "Don't you have enough guns yet?" Or, my favorite..."You already have at least one of everything."

As with any addiction, there is never enough. I still lust after guns that catch my eye for reasons unexplainable other than the beauty or uniqueness of a particular gun. Sometimes I find guns I want that I didn't know existed until I saw a picture in an ad, Gunbroker, or some article I read.

I make no apologies for my addiction as I hope you do not yours. I do not collect for the sake of collecting but do so as to have a variety when I go shooting. The day I stop buying will be the day I get lowered into the ground.

For me its the quality of the workmanship, the genius of the design and the fact its a beautiful work of mechanical art. AYUH I enjoy art, I visit my local art museums as often as I can and buy exhibits when finances allow which isn't anywhere near as often as I crave to own these masterpieces and place them in my personal collection.

I think I enjoy steel more than plastic because steel is more refined and has character. I know I'm in trouble when I am in the museum and handling fine examples of workmanship and my hands get clammy, my throat gets dry and sweat drips from my brow. This is when I should leave but can't force myself until I have my specimen on layaway or just buy it outright. Hi, my name is N.H. Yankee and I'm an addict.

And I do appreciate your point of view, however, I just believe that every BG deserves to get shot by a nice looking gun...some guns a BG should be proud to be shot by....for example....if you gota go down...well, go down to the best...like a fighter would rather get beat down by an MMA fighter than some unknown punt that people say...who? Rather it was Down Town Eddy Brown that brought him down.

I agree, the sig is sexy and I just imagine its tack driving and double tapping abilities are sweeeeeeeeeeeet!

I bought a S&W 327 performance center snubbie a couple of months ago and it is pretty sweet. Very light for its size, with scandium/titanium frame. I was weary about the possible recoil of .357s but I can honestly tell you its not nearly as bad as I thought. That big grip really allows you to keep recoil down...its much more of a pleasure to shoot then my Model 60 in .357 that is for sure.

Not a pistol predator, but rather someone with class and style. Unlike myself who buys milsurp C&R pistols and cheap pot metal 22's LOL;)

I'd go with, "My name is Kreyzhorse, and I'm a pistoloholic." rather than being a predator or offender... sounds like Chris Hanson is going to jump out just when you and that S&W get in the hot tub. :)

Anyway, I understand wanting the Sig, but I can't get my head around the S&W.

Gun addict, never ever met one!

My wife addressed my Valentine's Day card "To my Gun Nut", that about covers it in my house.
I just traded a Model 19 .357 snub nose revolver, for a Colt Mustang pistol, so I could trade it for a new AR-15 tactical rifle. It worked!

Yes, it's an addiction.
And we're our own support group. Gotta love it.
Has anybody figured out the 12 steps for gun addictions - No way, nobody ever admits they're addicted to guns. Not even after they just sold the car for that one of a kind Custom Smith & Wesson 500 Magnun revolver.
Or pawned their custom made bicycle for a new Taurus Judge.
