I live in MA where preban mags still matter, with that said if anyone is willing to sell their old Glock 17 preban mags to me it would be much appreciated.
This picture shows the difference between preban and postban mags. All U notch mags are pre ban, for Square notch Glock mags to be preban they have to have the lower caliber markings. During the Assault Weapon Ban, the caliber markings were moved up to make room for the Restricted LEO Use markings. U notch mags are not as desirable as they do not drop free, and if you look in the pic of the second mag where you can see molding marks connecting from one witness hole to the next, it's very common to form cracks along those marks and it will eventually run the whole length of the mag. I have had this happen to a Glock 19 U notch mag personally as well as witnessing a number of other mags like this.
