Are older K-22's the tightest chambers in the world?

As far as remington ammo goes, its all I put through my .22's. May not be the cleanest, but I know it will work everytime. That, and it feeds best in my 10/22(gets it all gummy, but I've never had an ammo related problem with it after 12000+ rounds in that gun alone, all but a few hundred were remingtons). Also find that with other brands of ammo, I have to fiddle with the sites every so often, especially with the Federal plinker pack(though my dad swears by it, sucks for me when I have to bum off him). The rounds seem to vary a lot for some reason.

I've had a couple of K-22's, a 17 and an 18. The 17 would eat anything, and by the multiple bricks before any cleaning. The 18 had tight chambers. Some ammo would go 300 to 500 or so rounds and it would need to be cleaned, some less. I just dry brushed the chambers with a brass brush vigorously,(with a lot of rotation) and was back in business. Both guns were extremely accurate. I shot a group with the 18 at 46 yards that was about 2" from off the hood of the truck.

I've shot the 17 well over 200K rounds. Positively the best 22 I've ever had or seen by far. Still accurate after all these years and rounds.

I have a 60's ventage K-22 that's never liked Federals. They just burn too dirty to extract easily. But at the same time, that's what my 10/22 does the best with (frequent misfires with the Remingtons that work great in the K).

I've found the chambers to be a little tight on my M-18 made in 1952 as well.
It doesn't bother me too much and I'm not about to muck with a good thing over the issue. I find my shooting is better when I slow down on my reloading anyhow. Probally one reason I prefer revolvers.
