Are boxes, paperwork, or original grips important to you?

guns bought new ...yes I keep all the stuff...guns bought used ...don't really care if it has a box but I tend to think that people who keep everything are more meticulous about their guns...usally willing to pay a little more if everythimg is there...thats just me and I shoot everyhing I have...no safe queens here

Depends on the firearm. Yes, if I plan on either collecting or selling in the future. No, if it's just an all around fun plinking gun that I plan on keeping.

Ive paid hundreds less for great well kept guns without the box or manual. If I have a choice between two equally great guns but can save substantially I'll go without the box and papers

Box and papers are just... well boxes and papers. If I'm buying a gun to shoot and carry, I'm not too concerned with the box or papers.

Boxes, paperwork, or original grips

Having boxes, paperwork, or original grips, when you trade or sell a gun can and usually will bring $20 to $50 more.

Somewhat important. Depends on the gun. If it's a shooter, like a Glock, I don't really care about boxes and instructions.

I have a COP 357 - sure would like to have the box for that. Price was right, though.

Collectible guns - need box. Valueable guns - box is good. Guns you're going to pump thousands of rounds through - who cares. Most boxes form my guns end up being stored in my attic. Gun goes in the safe, box gets thrown into my attic.

Its a plus if the seller has the box and papers / but no, it really doesn't matter to me. Stocks or grips are a little different / and while I may find an aftermarket set of stocks ok / in general, I do want the original stocks in good condition. But there are cases where the aftermarket stocks are an upgrade over the originals too ...

I don't collect purely for the purpose of collecting / I shoot everything I own and/or buy. If the value is reduced because I shoot a gun / that's too bad - I'm going to shoot it anyway / and if I have a gun for sale and have the box, paperwork and original stocks - then I sell them with the gun.

No box, no paper work, non original grips= fine with me. None of my firearms are purchased for thier collectors or resale value. Thier value to me is the enjoyment I get from using them. If I like the gun, its no big deal to buy it without the box and papers.

like to have the box if it is a good thing to store it in. Ruger pistols often come in pretty nice plastic cases that are actually useful. They add value to the gun. Otherwise I can get the manual off the net and I am not going to register the warranty anyways.

Yes, yes and yes. I do shoot 80% of my guns. but I want all the factory shipped. Box, paper, lock, screwdriver, everything. It does add value, at least for a "serious" collector. The original stuff completes the "Package".

One of these Alamo heroes, Davy Crockett, is said to have advised the men there, "Pierce the heart of the enemy as you would a feller that spit in your face, knocked down your wife, burnt up your houses and called your dog a skunk!"

Yep, unless I'm getting a blazin deal on the weapon. Personally if it doesn't come with the box and literature. I really don't want it. I know that it is kinda anal but like I said, unless the deal is right. No box, no papers, no buy. Cost wise unless its "a collector" its not gonna run that much more for one with all the above.

Just a little space up on a shelf in the back of the closet!

Are you kidding? I'd have to devote a shelf to empty boxes. If I included long gun boxes it would take half the closet. I do throw some of that stuff in the attic in case I need packaging for shipping at some point.

Some here would have to rent warehouse space for empty boxes if they kept them all.

I keep (most of) mine. Not anal, just a pack rat.

I figure seeing them in a sale may mean the person who thought enough to keep the "set" together may have thought enough to clean his/her gun more than once a year.

But not a deal breaker if the gun is in good condition.

However, if you extend the question to the little tag in the stock of K31's, then, "YES!" Has to be there.
