Corporate interests are only in the republican party? Yeah right.
The pure and just Dems accept zero to little corporate money? Wake up! But who am I to critize, as I work for a corporation and take that juicy corportate money every two weeks. I just happen to work for it. They aren't paying me off so that I'll leave them alone.
What I don't care for these liberal "reactionaries" is their positions on individual freedoms and economic liberty. By reactionary "I" mean that they see a problem such as crimes committed by individuals who use a gun in the commission of the crime, and jerk at the knees and scream "For the Children"! And then proceed to attack me as an uneducated redneck. That's fine as far as it goes, as I am a redneck in some respects, but to limit my protected freedom and to encourage our government to limit our freedoms is down right illegal and selfish.
As far as being embarrassed about being an American, I know the emotion. I remember considering the people who suffered as Clinton destroyed Sudanese Pharmecutical plants. I am also embarrassed that our nobel leaders don't trust us enough in the excercising of our protected freedoms. I consider this as I apply for another CCW and need to have a permit to peacefully assemble.
I think socialist-leaning individuals are embarassed about America because our new elected leadership in Washington just might lower the burden on us. This is anathema to a socialist. How dare we leave people alone! They just might excercise freedom and liberty without the government telling them otherwise.

Folkbabe, I know people like that. More power to him for getting the heck out of Dodge City. Hopefully he will renounce his US citizenship and this beautiful country will be improved to the measure of one less arrogant self-hating cheeseball. If the US is so bad why do MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of people from around the world want to live here? Why are they willing to RISK DEATH to live here? BECAUSE THIS IS THE BEST COUNTRY EVER, YET, ON THE PLANET! Is the USA perfect? no. But we have the only country that is dedicated to becoming more perfect and fair for every citizen. And that includes giving people the freedom and liberty to improve (or fail) by their own efforts.

All the ranting against corporations is stupid, too. Where the heck do you think about 80% of the material goods in the US come from? Stereos, cars, electricity, guns, band-aids, crackers, wine, capital and financial instruments, machine tools, computers, airplanes, jeans, shoes, etc, etc.
