Several Liberal actors stated they would leave the Country if Bush won the election. Are they packing yet?

Do you think they will want to vote absentee next time?

I want 2000 Florida Bush voters to sue Alex Baldwin for Breach of Contract if he doesn't leave. They should claim that they voted for Bush to get Baldwin to leave.

I dunno about actors but my boss's son has started the process of applying for Quebec residency (which is apparently a different process than for the rest of Canada).

Bayonet? Howz 'bout some rock-salt ala Granny Clampet? Don' let the door hitcha yer @zz on the way out, Alec!

So Folkbabe, what is so wrong with your friend that he can't live under a President that has some common-sense and knows how to keep his pants zipped? And is there anything we can do to expedite the process?

I think we can only hope that the anti-self defense people do move away due to the result of the election. That means in 4 years it will be a much easier victory.

(Of course, I expect most of them that made the statement that they would leave will realize the above and say that's why they can't actually leave.)

Let's do this instead!!

Let's start a collection to buy one way tickets to China and send them to these a--holes! Who will volunteer to hold the money? I can't think of a stronger message to them. Can someone get us a list? This could be fun, send a little card with the ticket that says "complements of real Americans"!!!!!!! Even if we sent fake tickets it might bring the point home. I know we have some printers in our midst!! LET'S DO THIS!!!!!

Wanna know who's gonna bang the "We Didn't Count Every Vote So He's Really Not The Real President!!!" drum the loudest, and longest? Yep...

Bam Bam, just to clarify, he's my boss's son not really my friend (though he seems like a nice guy if one leaves politics aside--he works for a some people I dislike).

Anyway, he's thinking of moving because (1) he thinks Bush will drive this country into the ground and (2) he embarrassed to be an American. I strenously disagree with him on these points because I still believe in what the U.S. is supposed to be (in my view, anyway :p). However, he's genuinely upset enough at the idea of reactionary control of both congress and the presidency (I'm not sure they're really reactionary or just pro-corporate) that he wants to move out before he's even more embarrassed about being "the ugly american." FWIW, he already passes as a Canadian most of the time because he actually pays attention to world affairs and is fluent in several languages.

The things stopping the move are difficulty in obtaining residency and possible problem relocating with work. However, if he doesn't go to Quebec he'll probably relocate to London.

Folkbabe, what does 'reactionary' mean?

Seriously, inquiring minds want to know.

Personally, I think it means whatever the leftists say it means on a given day.

folkbabe's oversimplistic political definitions:

Liberals want to change the existing system somewhat. Conservatives want to keep the existing system basically as it is. Radicals want to overthrow the system and start a new one. Reactionaries want to go back to how the system used to be.

Note--This is not meant to be an all-encompassing explanation. It's what I use when I'm asked by some 14-year-old apolitical kid in the neighborhood "What's a radical?" I would be interested, however, if other people have significantly different definitions. If for no other reason, it would let me give that 14-year-old an answer that is more reflective of others' viewpoints.

Anyone embarrassed to be an American doesn't deserve to be an American. I sincerely hope the guy applies for citizenship instead of residency in Quebec.
I'll admit that at times I have been ashamed of the "leaders" of the U.S. but never my heritage as an American (or as a southerner).

I went out to Alec Baldwin's web site to leave him a message in his guest book asking if he needs any help in packing. They have shut down the guestbook portion of his site due to Americans, thats TRUE Americans leaving him mail suggesting what he can do with his Socialistic opinions. There is an email link: eldorado@eldoradopictures.com
Betcha don't get a reply!

If these liberals are actually afraid and/or ashamed of having a principled man in the White House for a change, I offer the use of my truck to move to the nearest Communist/Socialist country. Like most people at this web site, I have had enough of the whiners like Lieberman and the rest. I may have the same disease most of the decent people in the Congress have-when the Liberals talk about the absolute control they want to put on us, my head cocks like my puppy and I say, "what?" Well, enough is enough-those foolish enough to think I'm just going to sit back and be run over by the liberals simply do not know who they are fooling with.

He is the Devil!

Did anyone happen to notice that Mr. Alexi Baldwinoff was born in...

Amityville, N.Y.

The REAL Amityville Horror!!!

I'd be more than glad to give up my "citizenship" in exchange for a US one. Those who are really ashamed of being "ugly Americans" and would like to taste Socialism for a change can e-mail me. If you're into big government in general and gun prohibition in particular, this is your chance!
Best of all, you won't find any "reactionaries" ranting about individual rights around here. So come on over! This is a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity! :D

Leo Daher
