AR15 reg in CA

I wish I had a M1A. But at $1200+ each, thats a bit too much for me. That, and the price 308 is not cheap.
Back on the Reg. I just hope I don't wait all this time just to receive a denied letter. That would really just make my day.

It is not too much!

Come on USP! Go for it. Get an M1A. I bought mine when I was 21 years old and working my way through UCLA. I had it paid off in 3 months! It is all about priorities. Nothing better than prioritizing an M1A into the budget. Since then I have prioritized a gun safe, a complete Dillon RL 550B reloading setup, and tons of ammo for it in the 2.5 years since. We must build our aresenal now before we get married. Heck even a serious girlfriend can cut into the ammo and firearms budget. We are both still young (I am a mere 23), invest in this stuff now while it is still legal and while we can still afford it!

I sort of wish I had enough to not only get the gun safe and the Dillon reloader, but the AR as well. Oh well. I am going to have to settle on the M1 Carbine as my urban projectile launching tool.

Actually, there is a time-limit of 75 days for the CalDOJ to complete the registration process. There seems to be no pattern as to the date sent to the DOJ and when you get it back. My bro just got his back today, and it was sent overnight on 12-12-00, with the return-receipt date-stamped 12-21-00! So be patient. If anyone still has questions on how to fill-out the form read my article on it at:

http://www.calnra.org/jh2.html

I sent mine the second week of December (don't remember the exact date) and just got the registration today. When I called to inquire about my application, a lady at the DOJ told me that they were very busy so she couldn't verify anything. However, she advised me to send another one just to make sure! So I sent another one the last weeek of December. What a pain.

I called the DOJ registration telephone number on 1/19. The gal told me that it taking 6 weeks to process the registration. She said they had limited resources available. She stated the DOJ was trying to minimize the occurence of rejecting forms by calling people to resolve questions. She also stated that as long as the form was received by DOJ prior to the deadline, if it was later rejected for a new fingerprint or additional info, it was OK. They are not able to tell you if your form has been received.

"I want to be able to whip out my "papers" in a hurry if LE ever asks."

THIS REALLY PISSES ME OFF! This country is going down fast, and California is leading the pack! It really sucks to have to have "papers" to own a stock rifle!

I hear ya. I hope this whole energy crisis goes to hell in a handbasket. Then, when those motherf)$*# who voted these jackasses in tries to purchase a firearm for protection either finds nothing available or the 10 day waiting period, I hope they get their a$$es reamed by looters. Let's see how long those jerks in Sacramento stay in office.

Sorry mute, looks like Davis is gonna come out of this one shining more than a new quarter. quite dissappointing really.
During the roits in LA after Rodney King, people got upset about waiting periods, but that didn't help, look what comes out of LA these days, the same types of people.

Now I sit here patiently waiting for a letter of some sort to come from the DOJ, so i let take my Bushmaster and his friend Oly out and play with them.

wait,...wait,....wait,... pace back and forth,.....pace back and forth,... pace back and forth,... wait,... wait,...wait,... pace back and forth,... pace back and forth,...pace back and forth,... wait again,... wait some more,... keep waiting,...

damn, when will it ever arrive,.. my friend got his 2 weeks ago,.. now i can't go out with him, this really sucks!... and we can't do anything but "wait"...ggrrrr..

Good news
My Reg approval finally came in the mail. First thing I did was scanned it, and then I printed a few copies of it. I even shrunk it to the size of a business card, printed it out on glossy photo paper, and laminated it to keep in my wallet. I also laminated the original. The copies went in my file cab, gun case, garage, and I even made a small copy of it to slip between the telestock (fixed) and the rubber add on pad. If only I can get a copy on it in a small piece of cloth. That way, I can sew it on my sling.
Sorry. I know I am going over board but I am just too happy about it.
For those who haven't got it yet, I hope you will all do soon.

This makes me sick!

Look at what this bastard state has done to a law abiding citizen. He has to make 5 copies of a stupid piece of paper in order to possess his own property. Problem now is that AR-15 no longer belongs to him. It belongs to the state. When you die, it goes to the state because your relatives will not be able to inherit it. It really makes me sick.

Chill

Chill Dude Kalifornia has world class counterfeiters, Just cost $100 bucks for Kalifornia/Nazi gun papers!

"My Reg approval finally came in the mail. First thing I did was scanned it, and then I printed a few copies of it."

Seems to me a more sensible approach to firearm owner ID would be a system utilizing tatoos.

Well, hey... my thoughts go out to those of you living in Cali that registered to stay within the law. Good for you and I hope all will go well just as it did with the full auto registration with RR (no confiscations on the REAL assault weapons yet, right?).

To the people that didn't register, well, have fun and I hope you don't get caught cause it could legally forfeit your right to own ANY FIREARMS. Yes, I know it sucks, but it's the LAW that you live by when you choose to live in PRK. Where are the people that objected to the need to fill out class 3 stamps? My guess: incognito.

In the mean time, I'm glad I'm stuck out here in Az for the time being... don't know what to do with the evil rifle when I move out there in the near future.
