Appleseed and shooting with a sling

I picked up the sling from the Appleseed store as well as a chamber safety flag.

Looking forward to it.

Does anyone have any idea how to mount it properly?

Also, if my gun is zeroed at 50 meters, how low/high will it shoot at 25?

Great time. Took my son and he loved it. Get your gear together before you go. Get a peep sight. Practice the prone position often before you go. Have fun!

Gehrhard:
If you've ever seen how cinched up we get for that (see attached) you'd have to laugh!

I always thought 3P shooters were crazy, but I didn't know until now that they were even put in straightjackets to shoot!!! ;)

another help I reccomend to students is to check youtube for 1942 army m1 garand. it covers all the shooting positions. Good stuff

What I recommend to everyone who wants to become the best real world shooter you can be is to forget a bench even exists.

You don't need one. The more you allow yourself to rely on one the longer it is going to take you to unlearn all the bad habits bench shooting has taught you.

A bench is good for sitting around drinking beer AFTER the shooting is done.

But you are going to say "I need the bench to zero my rifle". No you do not. Once you learn to use a sling or bipod you can zero without a bench.

I'll agree with you 100% if you toss the bipod, you don't need that either, its no different then the bench.

I don't shoot competitions, but I zero my rifles the way I shoot them. Off the hood of the truck, fence post, tree, knee, or whatever.

When I hunt, if no animals seen, when I give up for the day I put an item out as an impromptu target and shoot at it to check the sights. That way I know they are good for a real situation, and they always are.
