Anything you WILL NOT spend money on?

Excessive magazines. Always wondered why some people feel the need to have 10 plus mags for each gun they own. Given the cost of magazines these days it seems like an awful lot of money that could be spent better elsewhere. To each there own, I guess.

EDIT: Sorry, I also didn't read the question properly.

To add some validity to my post, I'll always spend a little more money for the best magazines I can get.

My Grandfather always told me to buy the best tools and toys that I could afford. I think it was good advice.

I wont spend $40 on these:

I won't spend money on anything to pimp out a shotgun. They'll kill whatever you hit with the shot coming out the end of them straight from the factory. The key is to develop the ability to hit what you shoot at.

Holsters, ammo, and gun belts.

I have 1 higher end holster(a Safariland, that I took in trade)

I don't get into all the ballistic wars, I buy what works, I don't pay attention to cost(all that much) I carry gold-dot, or Ranger SXT, But feel just as secure with range ammo.

I can't stand wearing a belt(but do), so I damn sure ain't gonna spend $100 or more on something I don't like.

I don't spend money on

Cheap holsters, except for my .22 pistol, its got my only nylon holster cause its special ;)

Expensive holsters, I have a Galco (most expensive one I own, wasnt even full price cause if was a display and has a screw hole in the back :) ), but my Bianchi holsters work just as well, for half the price

Excessive mags, my father has about 15 for his Hi-Power,how many do you really need for a gun?

Scopes that cost more than the rifle

Range bags, whats wrong with an old gym bag or surplus ammo can?

Targets, I can print them for free, or just drink a 12 pack of coke

I will spend money on

Certain firearms if I believe the quality/reliability are worth the price

Moderatly priced holsters like Bianchi etc, work great for me, and the price is right

Dies, I prefer RCBS over Lee, and will spend the little bit more to get them

Reloding components if they have proven to preform better than a cheaper alternative

Gun parts like safeties, slide stops, springs etc.

My Taurus 85 usually rides in a $10 Uncle Mike's pocket holster, and I even use the same holster for my P7M8 on occasions when I slip it into the pocket of my overalls. While it displays plenty of wrinkles from that use, it shows very little wear and tear. It was a good way to spend ten bucks.

I also own a DeSantis nylon paddle holster for my P7M8. It is rugged and well made, and I thought it was a great deal at $28, with it's regular price being $46. I should have spent the money on ammo. It holds the (already butt-heavy) pistol up too high, allowing it to pendulum fore and aft, making concealment an aerobic activity. It lives in a drawer now.

I wish I had a story about how much I love my DelFatti holster, and how it was worth every penny of the $175 it set me back, but I haven't had the patience to overcome the perpetual two-year wait he has earned. By the way, I did send off some cash to Andy Arratoonian at Horseshoe leather (who has his own waiting list issues right now-thankfully not as bad) for a beltslide and a single mag holder, and can highly recommend him as an outstanding value.

Sometimes items provide a great deal more utility than their price tag would suggest, and some items are useless at any price.

Creature, I don't know if these have any real function, but I do know that when you post an add containing the phrase "Tactical Balls," you make very difficult for the rest of us to maintain decorum.:D Also, when did a carrying case become a "Tactical Deployment Pouch?"

peetzakiller -- Ok, I'll bite. Is that a gun ... or a spotlight ... or a camera ... or a WMD ... or WHAT????

Looks good peetzakilla. Is that an ipod and gps on the left side

Really, I have no idea what that thing is or what's on it. All I know is that a google search of "tacticool pics" brought that up first link, so I figure it proved my point.:D

Peetza, Kinda reminds me of a Glock my buddy owns. He`s got so many gadgets on it he had to install a sling:eek::D:D. We went to the range one day and for giggles I had a micro-wave dinner I stuck in my bag. We shot awhile,I finally pulled dinner out throwed it at him and told him to put it in micro-wave that I just knew he had mounted somewhere on gun. He got a kick out of it.

Are there options or accessories on my guns that I won't pay top dollar for ... No, there really isn't.

I'll pay what I need to - to get the best components - mags, sights, speed chutes or mag wells, holsters, etc - because in the long run, I won't need to replace them. In the long run - having a gun made exactly the way you want it - and a holster, etc - is worth every penny.

I'm not into Tactical Cool stuff - so I won't pay any money to go that route. I also hate poly frame guns / have no use for them ( but that wasn't your question). Everybody should buy what they like /what they can afford.

Glad to see the TACTICAL BALLS are back. :)

I haven't been at this long, but I do know that being patient and thorough can save you money on just about anything. I HATE paying retail on any firearm or accessory. Not saying that I haven't or wouldn't but it is more fun to find a good deal.

I personally have never spent more than $50 on a holster. I dont feel like I can justify it. Id rather spend $50 on a decent holster and $75 on ammo as opposed to buying a $125 holster.

It seems like I buy a lot of "like new" or "slightly used" stuff as well. IMHO that is the way to go on most firearm related accessories. To me saving money on a "like new" holster, magazine, optic, etc. is just as good as free ammo. And who doesn't like free ammo!?
