Yeah, who would want a pistol more powerfull, more accurate, and more concealable than the ".45auto", not that the K45 won't be a great piece, but we're talking about two different animals.
Power yeah, but 100-150 foot pounds advantage to the .357 Sig really isn't all that much. There are so many ways of coming at this particular issue that it really makes your head spin -- hydrostatic shock, mass knockdown ratios, penetration in jello, one-shot stops (man, do NOT get me started on that...).
More accurate? Hum... Debatable, very very debatable.
More concealable, yes, the .357 Sig will be a smaller overall, but again, I don't really think that it's all that much of an issue.
I will admit that I've just never warmed up to the .357 Sig. When I was with NRA I got to fire one of the first ones released, even before it was announced to the public, and I've fired quite a few different guns chambered for .357 Sig since then.
I know why Sig & Federal brought the round out, but I really thought that it was going to be pretty much a non player, given the bombshell that was the .40 and it's acceptance.
It seems that the .357 Sig is developing a nice following, which is a good thing, but I'm personally still not all that taken with it.
The package we're talking about though, the Kahr, well I just LOVE my K9, and I'm not all that great a fan of the 9mm, either, but I do carry the K9, and my HK P7M13 (but that's more because I'm so freaking accurate with the P7).
And, believe it or not, I'm not all that big of a fan of the .45! I use mine for plinking and bowling pins -- I never carry it.
When I pick up a serious carry gun, though, I always, and I mean ALWAYS, pick up my Smith & Wesson Model 19.
Hum... Maybe I'm just a little miffed that someone is trying to steal the .357 Mag's thunder from my beloved wheelguns and stuff it into a plebian semi-auto?
Nahhhhhhh.
