Anyone tried 10/22 Tech-SIGHTS?

Hey guys!
I think these sights look so cool that I'm thinking about picking up a second Ruger 10/22 just to put them on! Has anyone tried them yet? I'll enclose the web address below the pictures. :)

Man, that's about the ugliest rear sight I've ever seen on a 10-22! The Williams WGRS is a great rear for the rifle and doesn't look like it was ripped off a battle rifle. Other opinions will vary, perhaps even flame, but I stick by it.

Ugly is as Ugly Does....

I'm interested in the tech sites for my 10/22. They do look rugged, so we will have to see if the stand the test of time and hard use. Regarding the Williams rear peep for the 10/22....well its a fine site, but it has NOT held up under use for me.....the Williams Site has not been "farm use" rugged enough for me.

I like the sights you have displayed. I am considering a 10/22 for my Son and want to start him out with open sights. The rifle I am looking at for him does not have any sights attached. That may be exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for posting that.

Sure, I'm glad you liked it. For only 55 bucks, I may go ahead and check them out before I buy a new rifle, to look at the quality of them. I also think they look rugged and I like the idea of the dual apetures, just for some fun at the range.
I used to have a set of those Zephyr sights from the Cabela's catalog mounted on my rifle, but I didn't care for them. I'll hav to see if these are any better.

Hard to adjust

I know once you get them dialed in, you are done, but they are a pain to move. At least on the M16, which this is like. Rear sight not so bad, but if you have to adjust the front a lot, you either need a lot of time or a special little tool. We always just used a nail (all we were given), but they weren't our weapons to keep. Gives me terrible basic training flashbacks just thinking about it.

That front sight does look pretty tall in the picture from The High Road Forum. It seems to me that the front sight problem is unavoidable when putting these types of sights on the 10/22. It was the same with my Zephyr sights that I no longer use. I still may go ahead and try to get my hands on a set to inspect them personally.
The company sells a sight adjustment tool to help the difficult front sight adjustment problem that davlandrum mentioned earlier. I hope that would help. I'll post a picture of it below.
I sure wish someone here had a set of these on a rifle to give us the report! That someone just may have to be me! :)

Sure! We knew there would be a sloution to that problem, and it only costs $7.95! I guess that's not too much to avoid the frustration of sight adjustments that you guys talked about.

The 10/22 tech sights are sweet. I recently went to an Appleseed Project rifle training and shot with these sights all weekend. Regardless of how some think they look, they get the job done. I went from okay shooting, to qualifying as a sharpshooter. I am looking to get similar sights for my Savage 64 because of how I performed on the 10/22. I highly recommend!

I've got the TSR-100 on my utility 10/22. Vast improvement in sight picture over that awful leaf. And you get eight more inches of sight radius, always a plus.

I've got them on my rifle. It is rather fiddly to adjust the rear (front is no problem), might put a bit of paint on the wheel to keep track of how far round it has gone. Now, I might go for the M16A1-type version and do all the fine adjusting on the front.

I love them!

I've had them on my 10/22 for over a year and the leaf sights are no match.
They are a P.I.T.A. to adjust but, once you get them where you want them, they are awesome!

Here's the sight picture:

I'd buy them. You won't regret it!

The key point is once they are adjusted you should not need to move them again.

I put a set on one of my 10/22s to try and get it closer to my M4 and I like them. I had to go the .920 barrel band route because I have a Green Mountain 16" target barrel on mine.... there was an advantage to this. I also have a Butler Creek folding stock on this rifle and with the 16" Green Mountain barrel the rifle was only about 25.75" long folded up... the front sight adapter added about a half an inch to the over all length.

I also did an Appleseed shoot last year ( I bought the tool ) because you are trained how to adjust in "clicks" for different ranges... they work incredibly well... yes the front sight looks really tall on a normal taper gun, but less obtrusive on a bull barrel

I liked mine enough that I bought a set for my SKS, with those sights & several other accurizing mods, I can shoot just over 2" groups at 200 yards with the SKS...

aditional sight radius is a big plus on both guns, & the ease of adjustment in the field ( with the tool being a big plus ) makes them the best sights I've tried on my 10-22 or my SKS ( I took a scope off & installed the Tech Sights on my SKS, & still shoot as accurately )

in fairness to Williams, I have a Fire Sights fiber optic ghost ring that I really like... but I don't think I'd want to adjust the aluminum base for distance ( like we did alot during the Appleseed training ) for fear of galling it all up... to me that sight seems better suited o setting it for one distance & leaving it alone after that

I've got both the TSR100 and the TSR200 on two 10/22s. They work much better than the stock sights. I needed something that was more accurate than the stock sights and sturdier than a scope to take on a boat trip.

Two points, buy the alignment tool and use blue loctite on the mounting screws.

I shot a group before adding the Tech-sights to my 10/22, and one after, and didn't notice any difference in the size of the groups. I wouldn't really call them 'superior' to the stock sights, but they are different, and I like them, as have my friends who have shot the rifle. I also put some on the SKS, and they shrunk the size of my groups considerably.

Tsr 100 is the bomb.....and I don't find them difficult to adjust at all.

Just make sure you use lock tite on the screws and thread lock otherwise they have a tendency to back out after awhile or heavy use ..like say an appleseed weekend lol. Not a bad idea to check the tightness every now and then.

Tech sights have great customer service as well.....they stand 100% behind their product.
