anyone load leverevolutions?

yeah but I'm not trying to waste $30 on 300gr jacketed bullets that might shoot horrible in my gun when i can buy the gimmick and maybe get a little more reach with that gimmicky nose. I shot Winchester 300gr JSP and they weren't accurate at all.

BTW-how the heck are you guys inserting quotes?

Click on the quote icon, the little yellow square with what looks like writing, in the task bar above the reply you're writing.
Then make sure the words you want to quote are inside the quote codes at both ends of the quoted words you've copied and pasted there.

I still can't find the quote icon. Using Chrome if that makes a difference? When I did a search, is showed a little icon. But I am still to dumb to find it.

Not to mention 400 grains vs 180, may appeal to some. The old debate of grain vs speed. Big hole, without expansion.
All the commercial jacketed hunting bullets made for the .444 and the .45-70 had large exposed soft-lead noses and some even hollow points...there was no debate about those bullets producing a big hole but with expansion.

Well, there you have it. Winchester. I tried a box of Winchester in my .358 WIN. I could have thrown the bullets at the target and done as well. When it comes to slow heavy bullets, Winchester is a maybe, maybe not. I did OK with their 45-70 box ammo.

Gimmick or not the ftx bullet shoots way better than any other bullet I have tried lead or jacketed. My guide gun is very accurate with it.. Add in the better ballistics and it is a winner. And not to mention the price for the bullets is not that bad either.

I went to my local reloading shop and the guy told me he has been hearing a lot of bad things about the ftx not expanding and just zipping strait through the animal. He recommended Hornady 300gr JHP. I picked up a box of them cause they were $22 and will see how they shoot. if they wont group well ill go back to FTX.

sorry guys its 45-70 govt. I have about 100 Hornady cases and that bullet shoots like a laser for me and hammers deer so figured try and reload them.

I do and use IMR 4198 and get same point of aim and velocity as factory ammo- both FTX and GMX bullets

be safe
