I saw them in a Surplus magazine a few years ago and I wish I would have gotten one. They are the little Mirror things The Military used for Trench Warfare. I saw surplus ones for Modern Military forces for like $20. I'd like to find one for Playing Paintball.

Ok Mr. Smarty Pants

Nah I want a little one.

Actually thats not a bad idea. I'd probable end up playing with it in the bath tub though:D

C.R.Sam I think that may be a wee bit too big for me;)

Steve Mace thats more along the lines of what I'm looking for. The one I saw was a little smaller but that might do just fine.

That site has something screwed up in the Processing order page.

That place is actually about 45min from me. I don't know if I want to drive up there for a $15 item.

I'll have to pick up a copy of Shotgun news. The Online site didn't have anything.

I'd have to dig through my catalogs, but I've seen tank and APC periscopes used in the driver/gunner/TC positions for sale. If they're anything like the ones in the Bradleys, though, I'd say they're way too heavy and bulky to be lugging around dismounted. Just for paintballing, I'd go with Borf and just make you a little one.

I actually just ordered that Periscope yesterday and got it today:) Its pretty neat for $15. It is a bit heavier than I expected. I saw a smaller one years ago for Infantry. This one will do for Defense but Its a bit heavy to carry around playing Paint Ball.

Actually, the PVC / mirror idea would work - use small mirrors (look at sciplus.com for all kinds of optics)& 2" pvc. cut pvc to length desired (or you could "nest" 2 sizes of pvc , but you need a relatively close fit). Cap the ends, cut a hole at the top & bottom that are 180 degrees away from each other. Place a mirror at approximately 45 degrees at each end so that light entering the the top hole is reflected to the lower hole - it may take some fine tuning, but you should be able to make one that fits your needs. (made one when I was a kid out of a cardboard tube & a couple of cheap pocket mirrors - it works.

if i hit your periscope with a paintball you are out

i doubt a scope would improve your game as much as more paint and a faster gun

i played last week against some guys that must of ran 500 rounds in 5 minutes a piece, the paint must of been free, cause it fell like rain

if yer in a bunker and a timmy with an attitude has you in range
yer toast, peeking at them with a periscope is gonna confirm yer locale
& yer gonna be lugging that scope to the dead zone

unless yer senario playing, you burn 15 minutes of game play best

NOT THE WAY I PLAY

Out of about 20 games I've played this year, I have NEVER been shot anywhere other than My Face hands and feet. I always got taken out trying to peek around a corner or over a stump. If I had something that was about 2-3 inches in Diameter and was camouflaged THEY"D NEVER SEE ME UNTILL THEY WERE 5ft AWAY
