Anyone have idea of barrel twist in Remington ADL

there are no online articles i could imediatley find.most of what i know comes from talking to people
Imagine that..........in all of the internet there's not one reference that substantiates those claims

I think you need to find other people to talk to.

Standard twist for both 7-08 and 7 mag among all of the major manufacturers is the same. Some use a 9.5 twist, others a 9.25 twist but every manufacturer that I can find references for barrel twist use the same twist for 7-08 and 7mm Rem mag.

It's possible to have all the facts, and still reach the wrong conclusion. I think that is what is happening here with you and the people you've been talking too. It is true that longer bullets tend to shoot better with a faster twist. It is true that heavier bullets will shoot better at longer ranges. But 140 gr bullets from a 9.25 or 9.5 twist aren't going to start tumbling at 350 yards.

Longer/heavier bullets with much better BC's will remain supersonic at longer ranges even though they start slower than lighter bullets. When bullets slow to the point where they are subsonic they lose stability and may well tumble. Lighter bullets will do this at closer ranges than heavier bullets. But is will be at a lot farther than 350 yards, and it will be due to the bullets BC's not the barrel twist.

Contacted Remington with serial number and twist is 9 1/4. Loaded up some 140 grain nosler bt under 62 grains of IMR 4831. Reminton brass and reminton mag primers. 3 shots under a dime at 100. Zeroed in at 2.5 at 100. Satisfied with this load. Didn't try any precision past 100 but old 12 inch gong at 300 rings all day. Got to get to 600 yard range at end of month. Not going to shoot over 400 but want to see groups. Going to use Kentucky wind age. My buddy with chrono is supposed to be there as I would love to know the velocity picked up Vortex viper 6.5 x20 x50 today with bdl reticle. Put on 308 but if it works out well may consider 4x14 in same reticle. My husbands hunting rifle and he's using 2.5x 10 on it now. Wants to keep power low but variable for close up shots and see far enough if he needs to. My loads. His gun and groups. Factory Sierra game kings were at best letting him group .097. Can't keep him away from press now.

i think you guys might be right about a trend of faster twist rates.

10 years ago the fad was towards the slowest rate of twist that couls stablize the bullet.

today upon looking up twist rates, modern data indicates a trend toward faster rates.

no companies i could find are still using a 1 in 14" on the 22-250's or 1 in 11" on the 7mm-08.
i guess i was behind the times but then again out of touch today is sometimes is hip tommorow
