It's possible to have all the facts, and still reach the wrong conclusion. I think that is what is happening here with you and the people you've been talking too. It is true that longer bullets tend to shoot better with a faster twist. It is true that heavier bullets will shoot better at longer ranges. But 140 gr bullets from a 9.25 or 9.5 twist aren't going to start tumbling at 350 yards.
Longer/heavier bullets with much better BC's will remain supersonic at longer ranges even though they start slower than lighter bullets. When bullets slow to the point where they are subsonic they lose stability and may well tumble. Lighter bullets will do this at closer ranges than heavier bullets. But is will be at a lot farther than 350 yards, and it will be due to the bullets BC's not the barrel twist.
