Anyone found Marlin levers coming out of the new factory to be of poorer quality?

I buy older stuff whenever I can. In the realm of quality firearms, used does not equate to 'used up'.

I have owned one and likely will never have another.
It was a .44 mag. lever gun.
Would not hit a 30"X30" paper target at 25 yards.
Would not function and feed reliably.
Went back to factory three times. They never fixed.
How they stay in business is a puzzlement to me.
Want to know why businesses are going to China and Japan to manufacture?
Read above. Overpaid, lazy management in U.S. is the reason.

I have been to several stores looking at the 60 over the weekend and the fit looked good to me on them ( 5 ) from different stores. The only flaw that I saw on one of them was the plastic insert front sight was peeled from being put into the groove. I don't know if they changed anything on the inside but overall they looked good, they were the SB model. That's the only model around here right now and they have 2 different colored stained stocks, one dark and the other slightly lighter in color. They were from the KY plant, even had a Remington tag on them.

The only reason that I didn't buy is because I was watching a older used one on GB, but it has gone over what I would pay for a used 60. I will go back sometime this week and buy it.

I read this off my marlin model 60: Marlin Firearms Co. North Haven,CT ! I wonder if it was still made by remington just using marlin's name? Does this topic refer to accuracy or just quality on what the gun was made of?
