Anyone else share a passion for the Browning Hi-Power?

Only flaw in the Browning High Power is that since it was designed as a 9MM it cannot be rechambered in 45 ACP.

I had a really nice one in .40S&W though. It was very nice. It lost some of it's sleekness to accept the bigger round, though. I sold it because I got out of the .40S&W business for a while.

BHP

It's the CCW that I carry everyday.

It never fails to fire, extract and load. Completely reliable. Exceptionally accurate. I feed it 147gr HP.

The trigger is not a 1911 trigger and once you get passed that and become accustom to the BHP trigger, you will love it.

Fully agree with those thoughts.

Something that you really ought to do is clean up your magazine faces. Get the friction surfaces for the trigger safety glass smooth. Use 400 grit paper on a smooth glass or other surface, work off all imperfections, then buff on a wheel with rouge. You can also clean up other surfaces. This will totally blow a war any arguments about the mag safety ruining the feel.

The Hi Power was my first pistol I bought myself and is still at the highest echelon in my collection (although it has a couple of mates at that level now).

I really like the classic WWII style leather holster with mag carrier and the overall military heritage of the HP. I can still shoot it slightly better than my Beretta 92, which is saying something! Very natural for me to be accurate with it, and it's a true beauty and very slim on top of it all.

My new Browning Hi Power arrives tomorrow at my LGS. Can't wait to see it, get it cleaned and lubed, and take it to the range!

Latest build by Mr Garthwaite.

It is a functional piece of art. It was well worth the wait and I would recommend Mr. Garthwaite, not that he needs my endorsement, for any custom work. This one is a keeper. So here she is. Have about 150 rounds down the pipe since its return. 100% function. Shooting 124gr Berrys plated bullets with 4.3gr of HP-38. It is dead on.
