My kids found this reality program on the History channel, Top Shot .

So far, I watched most of the first season - and watched the last 5 episodes for the second season. Darnit - it's interesting!

Was kind of impressed by how well all the finalists in season 2 handled the Browning High Power ---- compared to other firearms.

The European rifle (forget what it was) did not seem to go over too well.

Is the depth of my thinking simply gone down hill --- or has reality programming simply figured out how to grab my attention?

If they shortened the show to 30 minutes and made it 90% shooting then it might be watchable. Otherwise, I can watch people make trick shots on youtube without the other horse manure thrown in.

Yo can watch in on Hulu the next day. All shooting. My wife, who could take or leave shooting at this point, won't watch then. With it being an actual "show" she will. She sees the safety aspects of shooting displayed and has gotten, we'll say, less reluctant to go shooting with me. For example she will sit and watch Top Shot with me and sometimes Sons of Guns, but will never sit and watch hickok45 on youtube with me.

What? No Hickok45? Lol. My "friend" is the same way. She likes the drama and build up of reality TV. Plus I don't think she understands Hickok's jokes. She's 100% blonde and I mean in between the ears also. :D. I can't blame her though. I wont watch cats dance or bunnies hop either. And I will not watch Jersey Shore or Real Housewives of pick your location. :D

I still like top shot and understand that there needs to be some "reality" show drama and stuff to keep many people interested, but I wish that it were split more like 70/30 with shooting in the lead instead of 50/50 at best.

It's okay. If they had less drama and more shooting it would be a better show.

The second season was an improvement from the first season.

It's about as real as American Chopper, Sons of Guns, LA ink and the rest of that horse hooey. I have no trouble finding something else more productive for my time.

i like watching it but personaly i think i can out shoot every one i have seen on the show

You should audition. If you know you can out shoot everyone you have seen then its a no brainer. That's an easy 100 grand. You should just walk through the show without any problem.

At first it was Ok, but the last season really was hard to watch with all the silly drama. They do make some pretty nice shots and use some neat firearms. Also, so far all the contestants seem to be pretty good representatives for the hobby and sport of shooting.
