Anyone else here collect S&W revolvers?

No revolvers but six pistols: 3913TSW, 4006, 4013TSW, 4566, 659, 6906. I was saving up for the Performance Center's 945 until S&W entered into that insane agreement with the government. If you want to talk about S&W products, come check out The Smith & Wesson Forum, which is in no way affiliated with, nor does it represent Smith & Wesson of Springfeild, MA. Just a bunch of guys & gals sharing experiences and talking about their favorite S&W pistols & revolvers.

Not bad, Para...

I'm slowly working my way up.

My first S&W was a Regulation Police I frame in .32 Long, ca. 1917. Picked it up last year to go shoot with it, and found out that the mainspring had snapped at the strain screw.

I've now got:

two Model 19s, a 2.5 (which is my regular carry gun) and a 4".

two Model 28s, a 4" and a 6".

A Model 1917 Brazilian Contract (used it at a steel-plate shoot over the past weekend, FUN!)

A Model 57 .41 Mag. on layaway (I really have to rescue it).

And I've gotten rid of a Model 10 lightweight barrel and a nickle-plated Model 36 3" square butt. Sold that to a friend who needed a good revolver.

No S&W semi-autos. I don't like them.

I do also have a 3000 riot gun. Lots of fun.

I've got a 57 4" on layaway right now. I need to rescue it.

Do you load for yours? Have any good loads to share?

2 J-frames, 7 K-frames, 2 N-frames. That makes... hmmm... 11? Sure gonna miss S&W when they turn Tango Uniform.

Hmmmmmm, you could say I collect them. Last count was in the neighborhood of 50 or so. Probably 30 revolvers and 20 autos. Last two were the 945 and 945 compact. I figured if the distributors had them Smith had already made their money off them. The guns are awesome and you will be sorry if you don't buy one I promise you. Most dealers I have talked to will not stock S&W after the sell-out kicks in so I figure what's out there now is fair game. I still need a 396. Has anyone seen any in the stores yet?

I wouldn't say I collect them, they just seem to keep finding their way into my safe. ;)
Currently own six, all revolvers. BTW: six is the fewest I've had in many years, but I'm always looking for another good used one. :)

TFL's official "Curmudgeon" and damned proud of it!

Small but cherished collection:

Model 586, 6" barrel I've had 16 years which I will always keep (reblued and overhauled by S&W 3 months ago), and

Model 27-2, 6" pinned barrel, nickel finish with target hammer and trigger, recessed cylinder, lovely checkered top strap. A recently acquired, pristine N-frame approximately 24 years old. A gem to shoot and a real keeper,

Model 19-5, 4" barrel, nickel finish. Odd man out in this threesome. Harder to control, less accurate, and feels small in my hand.

mmm well I don't know if you'd call it a collection. I've kept three of the ones I've owned over the years: A M60-nothing that was one of the first few stainless S&W's off the assembly line; a K-22 Masterpiece that had the full factory blueprint treatment and was thereby transformed from a sow's ear to a silk purse; and a 1955 Target (M25-2) that is the 2nd most accurate revolver I've ever fired. I wish I had my 3-1/2" M27 back...sold it to buy a dog and the dog died...sigh...--slabsides

If they take our guns, I intend to let my hair grow long and acquire the jawbone of an ass.

I wish...

Only have 2 right now. 19-4 and 625-3.

Gotta sell some long guns to make room in the safe before I can add others.

I have been collecting the world's finest revolver for thirty years - let's just say I have many of them. I have a mix of I, J, K, L and N frames, many pinned and recessed, some five-screw and four-screw veterans that are retired now, some Lew Hortons, lots of shooters.

Hey Slopoke,

No M frames?

I've been looking for one of these little gems for years. When I find them (which is in itself uncommon) they're way too expensive... :(

Seven at last count-
3 Model 29's
1 Model 66
1 Model 17
1 Brazilian 1917 .45
1 317 Airlite

No autos.I had a bad experience with the only one I tried.
