Well, a bit. I used to be only a rifle guy. Most of my shooting life. A little over a year ago, I decided to get into handguns. Before that, I always dismissed them.
Anyway, being "old fashioned", I went with revolvers. 38 Spl, as I am something of a traditionalist. So, I've now had 3....one of which I've sold already. I gave away the first one I bought (a J-frame sized snubby).....but that one has since come back to me. So, bought 3....and have 2 now.
When I was a kid, I always idolized autos. As an adult, I didn't care for them. I thought revolvers much superior, in all sorts of ways. I just dismissed autos as troublesome and overly complicated. I gradually warmed to the idea of getting one though, on the theory that I'd like to have one before I die. So, I bought one. Didn't much like it - couldn't get comfortable with the grip. Traded that one to a friend, for the J-frame sized revolver I mentioned above (I had given it to his wife for SD, but she didn't much like it). I bought another one, smaller and more amenable to concealed carry. That one, though not bad, malfunctioned (went full auto on me)....and I lost trust in it. I fixed it - but recently sold it to another friend for $100. I bought another auto, this time a 9mm (the others were 45's). That one, I think, will be a keeper.
Oddly enough though, I am always thinking of getting another auto, not another revolver, these days.
So, to sum up, in the last year and a bit...... I've bought 6 handguns (3 revolvers and 3 autos)......and I still have 3 (2 revolvers and 1 auto).
It's funny how things change. A couple of years ago, I wouldn't have even considered "wasting" my money on ANY handgun....."can't hit the broad side of a barn with those things", etc. etc. Now, I've been through 6 and I don't think I'm done yet. I have far more fun shooting the handguns than rifles, as well.
Who would've thunk it ?
